The apartment was still quite empty when the four of them arrived, save for the other four boys and a couple of early arrivers, chatting with Hoseok and Yoongi by the sofa.
The four younger ones pushed the mahogany door open further and knocked on it to signal their arrivals. Almost immediately, a broad shouldered man popped into their view from the kitchen.
"Babies!" He screamed happily, running to the four of them and wrapping them into a tight hug.
"Hi hyung." Jungkook choked out, the older man's shoulder pressing against his windpipe. "Hyung, hy-ung, you're-" He coughed, signalling the man to step back.
"Oops sorry!" He laughed heartily, just as Namjoon strolled into the picture.
"Hey guys. Everything is already ready thanks to the efficient work of Yoongi and Hoseok." Jimin snorted and Seulgi punched his shoulder with a laugh, peering at the two boys with contrasting hair and personalities, chilling in the living room.
The door creaked open again and a couple more familiar faces slipped into the apartment, being greeted by the ever-so-friendly red head and then they were set free from the broad shouldered man.
Half an hour in, the place was already packed, the apartment being as big as it is. Loud chatter sounded from every corner, the doors of all the bedrooms closed for once, to keep intruders out. It was peaceful for a party, laughter sounding from everywhere and music still soft in the background.
But not for long.
Within the next 7 minutes, people had drifted off into the guest room to play seven seconds in heaven and those who came only to chill played spin the bottle. There were still loads of people dancing and socializing but the difference is that most of them were drunk.
"Jiiiiimmmiiiiiinnnn-" A certain drunkard called out to his friend as he weaved through the crowd of dancing people.
"Jiiiiimmmmiiiiinnnnn-" He called again, the friction of people's sweat rubbing against his beautiful white shirt. He furrowed his brows in annoyance when he realized how much cleaning he was going to have to put this shirt through. He pushed aside a short girl who didn't look old enough to be at the party and hopped over the sofa easily before spotting his blond friend by the windows.
"Park Jimiiiinn!" He scrunched his face into a smile when the boy turned to him. Jimin froze in his interesting conversation with a boy named Chan.
Oh shit.
Hyung's drunk.
There was this thing when it came to his friends. If Hoseok got drunk, steer him away from the party. And into the kitchen.
"I'm sorry Chan, just give me a moment." Jimin smiled apologetically at the dimpled boy who just nodded and walked off to find someone else. He turned to the red head boy who was still smiling and comically waving to the back of the retreater.
"Hyung!" He spoke with concern, not anger as he grabbed Hoseok's wrist firmly and dragged him back through the crowd and into the semi- safety of the kitchen.
"Who let Hoseok hyung out of the kitchen?" The wanderer was now flopped in a counter chair, staring into space, looking as if he was contemplating life choices. Jimin put his hands no his waist and cocked his head in expectation. A hand was slowly raised and he saw a sheepish Taehyung blushing with embarrassment.
"Sorry." He smiled apologetically and Jimin sighed.
"Just don't let him out again please?" The silver head nodded so Jimin smiled before turning to head back out.
"Wait Jimin." Taehyung called out from behind him in a small, timid voice. The blond turned around and raised a brow. "Why don't you stay?" He had managed to keep an even tone, but inside his heart was racing so fast that he felt like it was going to speed out of his ribcage.
Jimin thought for a bit. Chan had already gone to find another person to talk to and he was in no rush to go anywhere. And maybe he could get some answers.
"Okay." Taehyung sighed with relief and patted the cushioned counter set next to him for the blond to sit.

Where did he go?
Seulgi continued to smile sweetly at random people as she swam through the thick crowd looking for a familiar head of blond, needing someone comforting at the moment. She had felt so lost, she couldn't find anyone, not Joy, Irene or even Yeri. At this point, she just wanted to leave. But she couldn't go without telling Jimin.
I'll just text him.
She grasped at the space by her hip, half expecting for there to be a bag there, but then she realised she had left it in the kitchen.
"Dammit." She cursed under her breath, spinning round to head to the kitchen. In consequence, she crashed into a rock hard figure and misstepped. Everyone was wearing shoes today, something Jimin failed to inform her about, so with her black heels on, she tripped backwards, almost falling into another dancer when the figure grabbed her waist with a strong arm to steady her. Her view was only to his chest, where she saw a familiar navy shirt.
She peered up and froze. It was like the first night again, trapped in a deep, dark hole of mystery and beauty; the eyes of an angelic devil. But he released her and she snapped out of it.
"Sorry." She mumbled, thrown off. Her head spun, the three minor drinks she had, barely but still affecting her. She turned to walk off-
"Hey." Jungkook called as he latched onto her wrist again, spinning her around to face him again. She forced herself to look into his eyes; he was sober, (only a tint of alcohol in his breath) and just as she remembered. Every night when they would stand close and say goodbye, under the twinkling stars, their bodies melded together.
One last goodbye.
And as the ocean of dancers swung back and forth, bodies getting lost in the music, their lips crashed together for the final time, like the darkest waves in the darkest waters, awaiting the inevitable storm of departure.
