➣ Thirty Seven

BeEp, bEEp, BEep, beEP...

Groaning, Taehyung slammed a hand on the black box, immediately shutting off the siren before flopping on his back again.

Friday.

Last day of school-

He smiled to himself.

-before finals.

The smile vanished.

He ruffled his hair as he sat up, checking the clock for the time: 6:11.

He had plenty of time before he had to set off for school so he took his time in getting ready, eyes heavy lidded for the most part. He and Jungkook spent the best part of last night studying for exams which led them to only sleep at 3am.

At least, most of it was studying.

After stepping out of the shower, Taehyung continued on with his morning routine, although exhausted. Shaking his damp, silver locks, he left his room to pull the curtains from the window allowing the dawn light to spill onto the planked floor. He set off making two bowls of cereal, leaving one without milk and pouring chocolate and banana milks into mugs before seating himself comfortable on the sofa, watching the sun rise in gorgeous shades of pinks and gold.

After awhile he heard the shower start and stop in Jungkook's room before the door of said room was pulled open.

"Morning Kook." The boy on the sofa smiled, turning to face the younger, who only smiled back.

Last night was a mess for them,  a mix of studying, sleeping and scolding for sleeping while studying. Therefore, leading to Jungkook waking up a lot later than usual. It was only 6:35, but it felt different because he would usually wake up to sleepy Taehyung waking him up. Except today, the boy left him in bed.

Which led to Jungkook semi-frozen in his doorway as he attempted to smile back at his room mate without acknowledging the squeeze on his heart. The way the sunshine hit Taehyung's golden skin and silver hair was too much for him to handle. His smile was brighter than the sun's and the way his navy tee hung loose on his form made Jungkook's heart race. He looked so kissable.

But it was too soon.

"Hey, you made me breakfast." Jungkook blurted, forcing him to tear his eyes away from the boy on the sofa as he spied the bowl of cereal on the counter.

"Of course." Taehyung stood from the sofa and walked to the kitchen counter to take a seat there while his eyes followed the way Jungkook smoothly pulled his mug of milk from the fridge where Taehyung had set it after pouring it, along with a carton of plain milk for the cereal. "I left you to sleep because I figured you wouldn't wake up."

Jungkook was already hard enough to wake up on a daily basis, so leaving him this morning was probably the best choice. Unless Taehyung resorted to the nipple technique.

Ahem.

They sat in comfortable silence apart from the soft munching of cereal and sips of milk. At around 6:47, they set off to campus.

"KANG SEULGI GET YOUR ASS UP!" Jimin screamed into her room before disappearing back into his room to brush his teeth.

"What the-" Disoriented, she blindly searched for her phone on the table beside her and clicked the lock button to illuminate to screen.

6:47.

"Shit!" She threw the duvet from over her, immediately feeling the morning chill hit her bare legs. Not that it mattered when she was going to be late for school. She (barely) managed to get ready, and grabbed an apple from the fruit basket on their kitchen counter. But not without crashing into Jimin in the meanwhile.

"Ow!" She exclaimed, retracting her hand from the basket at the same time as the boy.

"Why? What happened?" Jimin immediately reached for the hand she was cradling.

"Nothing, it's fine." Seulgi pulled her fingers back, but he wouldn't let go. He examined them, turning her hand over in his and she winced, a little too much that he noticed. "Okay, Jimin you can let go now." She chuckled nervously. Her right hand was throbbing, the pain focusing mainly on her ring finger. "Jimin." She said a little firmer, and the boy snapped his head up.

"Sorry." He sheepishly dropped her hand and she slowly brought it to her side, careful not to disturb the bruising finger that she hit straight on an apple and Jimin's hand itself.

"It's okay." She attempted closing her fingers in a fist and (barely) managed, letting out a sigh of relief. They'll be okay.

"Let's go. It's 6:54." The blond went for her hand, but quickly stopped and went for the other. Seulgi couldn't help but smile as his fingers slipped between hers and he dragged her to the door, before dropping it to tie his laces.

"Uh, Jimin?" He looked up from where he was kneeling and hummed inquisitively.

He gasped softly. "So it does hurt." Smiling, he took her high tops and she tiptoed in them laughing as he mumbled something about bunny ears and holes. He stood, almost bumping noses with Seulgi. They froze, so close together, both breaths hit the the other still warm and minty from toothpaste.

"We should go." Seulgi whispered, eyes trapped in the chocolatey ones of Jimin.

"Mmm." The vibration of his chest was close enough that Seulgi felt it in hers sending an electric shock through her veins. It kept taking her back to the day when they were freshly moved in.

Before Jungkook.

"Jimin." She breathed again, but this time he moved too swift for her to notice, hands slinking around her waist and bringing her lips crashing into his. Her hands raised to his jaw, tracing the sharpness of them, pain from earlier dispelled from her mind. When they finally pulled away to breathe, she leaned onto his rock hard chest, laughing, the vibration sending sparks through Jimin's blood.

"We're gonna be late." The blond mumbled, kissing the top of her soft, midnight hair.

"We already are." She laughed, pulling away reluctantly.

"Can't destroy our perfect attendances right?"

"The only reason you have a perfect attendance is because of me." She let another laugh loose while trying to flex her bruised fingers; the pain simmered down to dull and barely noticeable.

"Let's go." The blond intertwined his fingers with hers and set out through the door, only stopping to lock it.
