"Why?" Jimin asked.
Seulgi thought about it. She didn't actually know why. There was just some part of her that felt the need to say sorry. Maybe it was the fact that...
She sat there in silence as Jimin searched her eyes, digging for answers. The dream had left her so scared. Could she handle another one of those episodes? Would she make it through?
"Kang Seulgi." A low voice snapped her out of her thoughts and it wasn't Jimin's. "Can we talk?"
Jimin turned to the boy with Seulgi's hands still in his, "Let her rest she literally just-"
"Yeah. Let's talk." Seulgi said, squeezing Jimin's fingers before following the boy out the front door.
"Seulgi, what happened?" Taehyung asked, his question breaking the eerie silence of the hallway.
"I-" She took a deep breath. "I experienced Jimin's episode. Again. And it was-" Her voice cracked as the paralysing fear washed over her again, tears threatening to escape again. "It was so scary."
"Hey, hey." Taehyung took one of her hands in his. His fingers were longer and his hands bigger than Jungkook's and Jimin's and she felt calmer as he stroked the back of her hand. "I know how scary it is to go through one of those. See this?" He pointed to a scar near the top right corner of his lips. "He got really mad and attacked my in my own room. I was lucky that my parents were out.
"Why did you say you're sorry? Did something else happen?" Taehyung scrunched his forehead, trying to make sense of it.
"I don't know." Seulgi replied. "It felt needed.
"There's something in me that's missing." The elevator dinged and a senior student from the university passed through. The two bowed their head slightly and waited for the boy to enter his apartment before continuing. "I'm quite sure I have amnesia because of the hit from the car and since then, I've been popping in and out of reality and into these weird dreams. At first they were just pictures like in old movies, but then the one I just had was the most real one yet. And I can feel I'm still missing some memories, and I have the strongest feeling that I'm missing one really important."
Pause.
"And I think it's hurting Jimin."
"Ah."
"I don't want to hurt him Tae. But I don't know how I'm supposed to fix it when I don't actually know what it is." Her shoulders slumped and the more she heard the words aloud, the more she realised how unfixable the situation was.
Taehyung pulled her into a soft hug and placed a platonic kiss into the top of her head. "Let fate do it's work sweetie."
"Fate?" She mumbled into his neck.
"Yeah. Fate."

Taehyung locked the door after the two guests left. He sighed and flopped onto the sofa by Jungkook.
"What's wrong?" Jungkook asked, fiddling with his fingers, uncomfortably aware of how close they were.
"I feel bad." Taehyung replied plainly. "I want to do something but I can't. Both Jimin and Seulgi are hurt and I can't do anything." To the boy's surprise, a small laugh came from his room mate. "There's nothing funny about it Jung-cock."
"Did you just call me Jung-cock?" He snorted; then he sighed, "Your heart is so pure Kim Taehyung. All you want is to help people and make sure they're happy. You have to learn to accept that you aren't God and you can't fix everything." He turned to the boy next to him, only to be met with a sore sight of him pouting and crossing his arms.
"It's just that they don't deserve the pain."
"And you don't deserve to feel this way." Jungkook finished. Taehyung turned to him and raised his brows, but Jungkook didn't back down. Finally, he sighed and uncrossed his arms.
Go with the flow Jungkook.
Jungkook took Taehyung's hands in his and gently guided him to sit across from him in a position where both of them were sitting crosslegged in front of each other.
"You're so precious, you know that?" Jungkook spoke softly, stroking the back of Taehyung's hands, feeling the bump of each bone under his silky skin. The feeling of his slightly bigger hands in his made his heart skip beats and the back of his neck grow warm. Taehyung hummed in response and looked up.
The late afternoon sun splashed a watercolour of rose and lilac across their floorboards and on the sides of their faces. Taehyung admired how the light painted Jungkook's creamy skin and watched his thick lashes bat against his cheekbones as he turned his eyes down to their intertwined hands.
He could feel the heat from Jungkook's gaze on his limp fingers as the brunet held them tenderly and Taehyung couldn't help but let the warmth bloom in his heart. There was a magnetic force within him, pulling so hard to just take the boy's face and kiss his plump lips. But he knew he couldn't.
Let him move first.
Taehyung bit his lip and felt his fingers begin to want to twitch, but he let it be. He was going to leave it there and wait for Jungkook to move.
For goodness sake Jungkook make a move I can't sit here forever.
But Jungkook just sat there, admiring every line in Taehyung's fingers, half in love with the perfection and half afraid that if he moved he would ruin the perfect moment they had.
Don't move Jungkook, he thought to himself.
But it's so boring just sitting here I wanna do something.
Do you want Tae to freak and scurry away?
I doubt he'll do tha-

Okay. Geez.
So they sat in a comfortable-turning-painful silence.
Taehyung could almost feel his teeth go through his lips and he knew he had to do something. But what could he-
Twitch.
His fingers twitched. And Jungkook felt it.
The brunet's head snapped up and Taehyung immediately felt a fiery red wave wash over his cheeks. Jungkook just stared at him for what felt like an eternity until he let out a small scoff-laugh type of sound.
"What?" Taehyung asked as he watched a big, bunny smile build up on Jungkook's face before he sighed.
"I can't believe I thought that..."
"Thought what?" Taehyung swallowed.
"Tae."
"Yes."
"You're squeezing my fingers really hard can you stop please."
Taehyung looked down at their hands and noticed the strength at which he was clenching his fingers. He immediately released them and coughed.
"Sorry." Jungkook laughed again and stood up, brushing himself off. Taehyung slumped inside when he noticed nothing was going to happen.
"Hey, don't frown." Jungkook said and Taehyung's eyes widened when he realised he pouted. The brunet put one finger under his chin and lifted his face upwards so he could place a short but heavenly kiss on the cold lips of his room mate's. "I'll see you later."
And only when Jungkook had left the apartment and headed for dance did Taehyung allow a tiny victory dance.
