The path to Saffron City was blocked so there was no point to even try to go there. I used the Underground Path from Lavender Town which led to the Celadon City.

It was midnight and I stayed in the PokeCenter. Surprisingly, I had no dreams that night.

I woke up late at 11 o'clock in the morning.
I brushed my teeth and had a quick bath.

Then I packed my bag and was ready to go to the Celadon City Gym. Leader Erika specialised in Grass Type Pokémons.

I went downstairs and phone called Mom. I didn't talk to her in quite a while.

'Hello', she said.
'Mom', I said, happily.
'Red ? So how is your Pokémon Training going on ?', she asked, joyful.
'Fine. I caught many Pokémons', I said.
'Very nice. I would love to meet them when you come back', she said.
'Sure and that would be very soon', I said.
'Where are you right now ?', she asked.
'In Celadon City', I said.
'That is good. You are crossed half the Kanto Region. That means you should have four badges', she said.
'No, just three', I said.
'So, defeat Erika and get the fourth one. Then, you must go to Saffron City. The way to Saffron is open if you go from Celadon Saffron', she said.
'Really, so I'll go to Saffron next', I said.
'Your father would be so proud', she said.
'Yeah, he would', I said.
'Bye, Red. Oh, no. The toast is overheated. Talk to you later', she said.

I turned off the PC and smiled. I went outside and started walking towards the Gym.

'Red, wait', said a very familiar voice.

The voice came from behind me. I became very happy and quickly turned around.

'Leaf ?', I said, overjoyed.
'Yep, my parents went to Sinnoh. I granted permission to stay in Kanto untill I have all badges and participate in the league', she said, freaked out in joy.
'Awesome', I said. 'I missed you, alot'.

I hugged Leaf for a minute and then she started telling me about what Pokémon she caught in the way. She caught a Diglett from the Digglet's Cave and a Pikachu from Viridian Forest.

'So, did you battle the gym leader ?', she asked.
'No, I didn't. Did you ?', I asked.

She showed her badges and there was a fourth Gym Badge on her jacket.

'You won the battle against the Celadon City Gym Leader ?', I asked.
'Of, course I did', said Leaf.

My jaw dropped. I was wondering how she managed to do that with her Bulbasaur but my mind made me remember that she had a Vulpix.

'I have to battle the leader', I said.
'Come on, we can do that later. Let's go to the famous Celadon Departmental Store', she said.
'Oh', I said. 'And the Game Corner'.
'Yes, we'll enjoy today', said Leaf, super happy.
'I love this city', I said.

It was pleasant and bright, the sun was hidden behind clouds which made the weather cooler. Children were playing with their Pokémon. One of them had a Poliwhirl.

By that, I remembered a Poliwhirl I had when I was seven. Poliwhirl didn't belong to my parents. I caught Poliwag when I was five and then it gradually leveled up and evolved.

But something happened and I lost him. No, he didn't end up a dead man. I literally lost him, lost him on a school trip.

Leaf and I continued walking, Leaf continuously looked in her Pokedex which displayed buildings too. My Pokedex only displayed cities and towns.

Suddenly, we were outside a tall building with a huge board saying Celadon Departmental Store.

'This is it', said Leaf. 'Let's go inside'.
'Really big. Isn't it', I said.
'Yes, it is', said Leaf.
