Fast Enough (Red)

'Another Trainer ?', he said. He was surprised to see us.
'Why ? Don't you get visitors', said Leaf.
'Leaf !', I exclaimed.
'No, I mean many kids are coming now a days', he said.
'Oh', I said. 'We are here to challenge you'.

'Okay, let me tell the rules of my gym', he said. 'Only three Pokémons can be used. Only the challenger can switch Pokémons in between the battle'.

'That is fine for us', I said.
'Correct', said Leaf. 'You go first,Red'.
'No, you go first', I said.
'Please hurry', said Surge.
'Red, go', said Leaf.
'Fine', I said.

Leaf stood outside the boundary line and we took positions.

'Go Magnemite', said Surge.

I pointed the Pokedex towards it.

'Magnemite, a Magnet Pokémon. Uses anti-gravity to stay suspended. Appears without warning and uses Thunder wave or similar moves', explained the Pokedex.

'Go Nidorino', I said. 'Double kick'.
Magnemite was poisoned. It was hurt by its poison.

'Good move, Magnemite use Thunder wave', said Surge.
Nidorino was paralyzed. Nidorino was paralyzed, it couldn't move.

'Nidorino, Horn Attack', I said.
Nidorino's attack missed.
Magnemite was hurt by its poison.

'Magnemite, use Thunderbolt's, said Surge.
'Nidorino, use Horn Attack', I said.
Magnemite fainted.

'Come back Nidorino. Go Pidgey', I said.
'You are making a big mistake', he said.
'I don't care. Pidgey, use Gust', I said.
'Magnemite, Thunderbolt', said Surge.

Magnemite's attack missed.

'Pidgey, use Gust', I said.
Magnemite fainted.

Pidgey flashed blue and grew in shape. After all those days Pidgey was finally evolving. It slowly grew its wings and the shape slightly changed. It finally evolved into a much stronger looking Pokémon.

'Pidgeotto, a Bird Pokémon. Very protective of its sprawling territorial area, this Pokémon can fiercely peck on any intruder', explained the Pokedex.

Surge clapped half heartedly. He was holding another Pokeball and was ready to send another Pokémon.

'Great', said Leaf, almost thinking about her Pokémon who never evolved.

'Go Electrode', said Surge.
'Pidgeotto, use Whirlwind', I said.

Electrode went back inside and a Raichu was pulled out.

'Oops', I said.
'Ha, Raichu use Thunderbolt', said Surge.

Pidgey fainted. It was a shame for me that it just evolved and then fainted.

'Come back. You are my last hope. Go Pikachu', I said.
'A Pikachu ? Are you serious ?', asked Surge.
'Yes, he can do things you can never imagine', I said.
'Is he faster than my Raichu ?', asked Surge.

Raichu was the evolved form of a Pikachu and was much powerful than any. But Pikachu had much more experience than any Raichu.

'Raichu, use Thunderbolt', said Surge.
Raichu wasn't fast enough and it's attack missed.

'Pikachu, show'em your speed. Use Double Team', I said.

Pikachu started running around Raichu in a circle. He was so fast that he gave an illusion that there were many like him standing around Raichu. It was difficult to spot the real one as each and everyone of them had a shadow. Raichu looked confused where to attack.

'Use Shock wave', said Surge.
Raichu's attack missed.

'Pikachu, Thunder', I said.
Raichu was badly hit.

'Raichu, Shock wave', said Surge.
Pikachu flew in the air because of the strong wave of electricity. He flew for a few seconds and enjoyed but then he saw that he was actually falling towards the ground, so he flapped his wings thinking that he could save himself.

Didn't work. He managed a Thunderbolt while flying.

Pikachu balanced on the ground and stood straight. I wonder Raichu could do that with his fat belly.

'Raichu, Double Team. Show them your real speed', said Surge.

My heart pounded and dived into the deepest part of Pacific Ocean. I thought I'll loose but Raichu wasn't fast enough.

Raichu was running around Pikachu. I could see some blurry lines between each Raichu.
It was too slow against Pikachu.

Pikachu took a deep yawn as if it wasn't a big deal and then walked slowly towards a Raichu and put his feet in the way.

Raichu too enjoyed a flying session but it fell with a BAAAANNNGG !

Raichu fainted.

'Electrode, I choose you', said Surge.

I laughed and Pikachu shook his head looking at me.

'Pikachu, Thunder', I said.
Electrode fainted.

'Good, chap', said Surge.
'Thanks', I said. Pikachu looked happy.
'Here is your Thunder Badge', said Lieutenant Surge.

'Red, could you please wait outside while I battle ?', asked Leaf.
'Why ?', I asked.
'Please', she requested.

Maybe she didn't wanted me to waste more time writing about her battle.

I went outside and waited for her. She took a few minutes and came outside with her third badge.

'Awesome', I shouted.
'Where to now ?', asked Leaf.
'PokeCentre', I said.
'No, I mean, which city', asked Leaf.
'Lavender Town', I said.
'Oh', she said.
'Let's go', I said.
