A Friendly Battle 2.0 (Red)

We reached Pallet Town early in the morning.

Leaf and Sabrina rushed to Professor Oak while I stood there along with Bill looking at the town I left few months ago.

'Thanks Bill', I said. 'For your help'.

'Don't mention it', said Bill. 'Come visit Sevii sometimes, I'll be there. I'm working on something important'.

'I knew something was up with you', I said.

'Take this', said Bill. 'Show this ticket to a sailor at the Vermillion Port and he'll take you to Sevii'.

'Thank you', I said.

Bill walked inside the ferry and the ferry drove away. I walked slowly to my house, enjoying the cold breeze.

'Red', cried Mom. 'You're back'.

'Mom', I said. 'I missed you a lot'.

Mom hugged me and cried, I was away for a while from home which made Mom alone.

'I'll get something for you to eat', said Mom. 'And where is Leaf ? Her Mother said that she will stay with us for a while'.

'She's gone to the Lab', I said. 'To bring some food for the Pokemon'.

Leaf and Sabrina brought all the Pokemons that belonged to me and Leaf home.

'Oh, my', said Mom. 'They are a lot'.

'Don't worry', said Leaf. 'I brought Pokémon food from the Lab'.

'Great', said Mom.

'Remember him ?', I asked, showing her Pikachu.

Mom cried after looking at him and Pikachu wiped her tears.

'Meowth, see who's here', said Mom.

Mom's Meowth always annoyed me but he played well with Pikachu as they knew each other from the beginning.

Most of the Pokemons were outside the house as they couldn't fit. My Pokemons were really big, most of them.

We all ate food in the backyard.

'So you're here for Christmas ?', asked Mom.

'Yeah', I said.

'But why ?', asked Mom.

'I know you have to go to Johto, it's alright. We'll handle things here', I said.

'I can leave Sabrina incharge here for that time, now have no worries', said Mom.

I slammed my head inside the grass after hearing that.

'So when are you going ? After Christmas ?', I asked.

'Tomorrow', said Mom. 'I was going to take Meowth along but he can stay and play with Pikachu'.

'Great, happy happy Christmas', I said.

Afterwards, I took all my Pokemons to Professor Oak's Lab.

'And what about the GS Ball ?', I asked.

'The what ball ?', asked Leaf.

'GS Ball, a Pokeball I found in Rock Tunnel', I said.

'You didn't tell me about it', said Leaf.

'You didn't ask', I said.

'I will ask someone to get it from Professor Ivy, no need to think about it', said Oak. 'But tell me about the Mega Stone you told me about'.

'Yes', I said.

I handed him the Mega Stone and the other stone with it.

'Interesting', said Oak. 'And it just reacts around Charizard ?'.

'Absolutely', I said.

'Hmm- I need to contact a friend of mine', he said.

'For what ?', asked Leaf.

'He is a genius. He is currently researching on Mega Forms and Evolution, so I think I should just talk to him', he said.

We went outside where other trainer's Pokemon were.

'Hey, Red', said Blue. 'You missed'.

'What ?', I asked.

'You missed the ferry', said Blue.

'I did', I said.

Sabrina and Leaf continued to see Professor Oak doing his stuff while our talk turned into a battle.

'Let's start', I said.

'Go Vaporeon', said Blue.

I pointed the Pokedex towards it.

'Vaporeon, a Bubble Jet Pokémon. Its body’s cellular structure is similar to the molecular composition of water. It can melt invisibly in water', explained the Pokedex.

'That's impossible', I said. 'Go Jolteon'.

'Wow, an Eeveelution battle', said Professor Oak coming out of the lab. 'Hope it is not a six on six cause I want this place to be a quiet one'.

Sabrina and Leaf walked out and started watching the match.

'Okay, one on one', said Blue.

'I have a major advantage', I said.

'Red, always remember. Match is never won using advantages, it is won with technique', said Professor Oak.

'Okay, Vaporeon, use Bubble Beam', said Blue.

It wasn't effective.

'Jolteon', I said. 'Thunderbolt'.

'Vaporeon', said Blue. 'Counter it with Hydro Pump'.

The electricity was absorbed in the water which fell back on Jolteon.

Jolteon was hurt with the Hydro Pump.

'Jolteon, Quick Attack', I said.

'Vaporeon, loosen your molecules', said Blue.

Jolteon passed right through Vaporeon.

'I think you should listen Vaporeon's Pokedex again', said Blue.

'Oh, no', I said.

'Vaporeon, use Tackle', said Blue.

I knew what to do, in order to tackle it has to keep it's molecules intact. I had the right chance, as soon as Vaporeon jumped for Tackle, I said,'Thunderbolt'.

Vaporeon's health was critical but it didn't faint.

'Nice try', said Blue. 'Vaporeon, Quick Attack'.

'Jolteon, Sand Attack', I said.

Vaporeon's attack missed.

'Vaporeon, Hydro Pump', said Blue.

'Jolteon, Quick Attack', I said.

Jolteon was hit by the Hydro Pump attack.
Jolteon fainted.

'So, Blue wins the match', said Leaf.

'I am gonna win the League', said Blue.

'I told you, battle can only be won by technique', said Professor Oak. 'You can't be lucky every time'.

'You mean I won the Gym Battles by luck', I said, trying to understand.

'Maybe', said Oak. 'But you'll understand soon, very soon'.

I kind of understood what he tried to tell me but maybe I didn't, who knows what he meant but I was going to find out, soon.
