I didn't like being in a building full of Team Rocket Grunts. I doubted how I survived in such circumstances.
The room was still dark, the door was slightly opened and we were behind the box, hiding.
My legs froze as the footsteps got louder. Leaf remained calm, trying not to make any noise.
She sat silently on my left side by the wall. She palmed her face in disbelief (that Alex made such a stupid mistake).
'How ?', she asked. 'How can anyone do something that stupid ?'. She saw right into my eyes, waiting for an answer.
'I- I think we should've had a plan', I said. 'Guess we are all responsible'.
Leaf had a kind of fear in her eyes.
'I have a plan', she said. 'Like, for now'.
My eyes widened. I was glad she came up with something at last. But the task was hard. We had to save Alex and get rid of Team Rocket.
'First, we free the scientists', said Leaf.
'We can. You can lead this mission or whatever you call it', I said. 'You are the bravest girl I ever knew'.
She managed a smile and hugged me tight as we sat. My eyes filled with tears.
Then she whispered, 'Thanks for believing in me'.
'I will always believe in you', I said. 'You are my best friend. So, what's the plan ?'.
She explained me her plan. It was kick - a$$, literally.
She stood up and went towards the door to check whether a grunt was there or not. I crouched by the box, tying my shoelaces.
She waved and mouthed - all clear. I walked towards her slowly. Then we walked sneakily, outside the room the lights weren't dim. Someone had turned on the switches.
'I wonder where those scientists could be', asked Leaf.
'Alex said that they were on this floor. Maybe locked up in some room', I replied.
'Okay, but we got to hurry', said Leaf. There were at least twenty rooms on one floor and it was impossible to check every one of them. The doors were all locked except for a few. The scientists could've been in any one of them or maybe more.
'Red, I think we should divide the work as there are many rooms with locks on theme's, said Leaf, seriously.
'Yeah, you break locks and I'll rescue the scientists. That sounds easy too', I replied, casually.
'Yeah, sure. Easy for you. Can't you be serious at any point of time ?', she said, angrily.
'Okay, okay. Calm down', I said, kind of scared.
She was trying to be my worst nightmare.
I started thinking about what a ghost and a Pikachu voice mixed together will sound like.
What about - Pikaboooo.'Red !', said Leaf, snapping me out of my wild imagination.
'W-what ?', I stammered.
'Knock knock', said Leaf.
'Um- who's there ?', I asked.
'Wire'.
'Wire, who ?'.
'Why are you here ?', she asked and I felt ridiculously stupid.
'To free the scientists, I guess ?', I said.
She stopped and stared at me. Her expressions said a lot like - you're insane, what's wrong with you, dude come one and you gotta be kidding me.
