Let's Go, Pikachu (Red)

Fast forwading to the day when Mom came back - December 31. That day wasn't very eventful, not if you count kite flying and new year dance in events.

The next day, I got up and I first thing I did was check the newspaper, whether the Viridian Gym Leader was back or not.

'Yes !', I shouted and everyone looked at me.

'What ?', asked Leaf.

'The gym leader is here', I said. 'I am going to Viridian'.

'Now ?', asked Mom.

'Uh - Pokemon League is starting in February', I said. 'It takes 10 days to enroll for Pokemon League'.

'That means we have to reach at the Indigo Plateau by twentieth ?', asked Leaf.

'Precisely', I said.

'We can leave afterwards', said Leaf.

'We don't have time', I said.

'If you want to go, then go. I am not leaving right now', said Leaf.

I hugged my mom and said ,'Bye'.

'What ?', asked Leaf. 'Okay, you can go but Pikachu would be here with us, right ?'.

Pikachu sat in Leaf's lap, confused.

'Let's go, Pikachu', I said.

Pikachu came running to me and said ,'Pika !', in joy.

'Pikachu ?', said Leaf.

'Bye, come on bud', I said.

Pikachu and I started walking towards Route One. And I understood that leaving that soon was a bad idea because it's too cold in the morning.

Pikachu walked beside me. He shivered and so did I. After an hour, we reached Viridian City.

It was nothing like I saw in August, there was a huge change in the city. It had more houses. The PokeCentre looked bigger and more trees lived on the streets.

I walked inside the PokeCentre in order to change my team but I didn't know which Pokemons did the Viridian Gym Leader used. So I simply asked Nurse Joy.

I withdrew all the required Pokemons in order to defeat the Gym Leader.

I walked confidently to the Gym. A Team Rocket Grunt stood outside.

'You can't go inside right now', said the Grunt. 'A match is going on'.

'Who are you to stop me', I asked.

'A security guard for this Gym', he said.

'And the Team Rocket clothes ?', I asked.

'Just a costume', he said, hesitating.

I stood outside waiting for the battle to end, after waiting for an hour, I got bored.

'Why isn't the battle ending ?', I asked.

'Kid, four trainer went inside at once',said the guard.

'Whoa', I said.

'And boss has to eat his lunch too', said the guard.

'Boss ?', I asked, suspiciously.

'I mean sir', said the guard. 'Same thing, hehe'.

I was curious to go inside. Suddenly, four trainers came out of the Pokemon Gym. All looked sad. One of those trainers was Blue.

'What happened ?', I asked.

'I lost', said Blue.

'Winning and losing is a common thing', I said.
