Okay, I broke my promise. I'm sorry :(
But I was really sick yesterday, so I couldn't get on. I hope you enjoy this chapter. Expect the next one Saturday at the latest.

Ch. 10: Take My Hand
Leila POV
I didn't believe it for a second. I'm stronger than the average human for some reason but I'm no vampire. Maybe because he pushed me past limits I was supposed to have, but never acknowledged. There was nothing to deem impossible in my life, so I just kept going and going. But there was no way in hell I could have punched that many holes in a wall that thick. Maybe one if I tried really hard...and was determined to break my hand...
So now it was my turn to laugh. "Quit playing...me, Jay," I spoke between bursts of harsh, bitter laughter. It was the only kind of laughter I knew now. One of his eyebrows shot up in surprise. "Seriously, why did you punch so many holes? Were you trying to kill a fly?" It looked like a checkerboard. Red, black, red, black... There was light in a few, but mostly black.
"I'm completely serious, Leila. You punched these holes while trying to kill me...again," he sighed. Okay, the second time around wasn't as funny, but I still laughed. Jay looked at me with a very annoyed expression. "Why won't you believe me!"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe because, including me, no human could punch a hole in a brick wall so many times. And I could never do that before. So I don't see why I SHOULD (wattpad needs some freaking italics) believe you, vampire," I spat at him.
"Well then that should tell you something," I barely heard him mutter under his breath. My previous...not exactly joyous mood disappeared to be replace by my usual darkened and empty mood.
With my temper flaring, I growled at him. "Is there something you want to say to me, Jay!" I was standing up already in fighting position with Angelus and Mortis poised and ready in my hand. They glinted harshly in the morning daylight.
Much to my irritation, Jay didn't step up to the plate. Nope, the vampire back down, staying in his sitting position against the checkerboard wall. That was another reason Jay was so odd and different from every vampire I've ever met. It's just not in there nature to resist a fight. And vampires definitely did not back down to one when called out. It made them so predictable and simple to kill. Especially since they let their guard down because they thought I was a poor, human girl. Well, if I bothered to dress up a bit and look nice for once, maybe I would really look like one.
I stayed in my position. Jay closed his darkening eyes and started taking deep breaths. What was with him? I bared my teeth at him. "Come on, Jay. Try and take a swing at me. Do what I know is on your mind, you filthy vampire," I pushed.
I think I pushed a bit too hard. I barely saw Jay move as he zoomed in front of me. I felt his hand grab both of mine with an iron hold I had no chance of breaking out of. I was paralyzed with shock as he tilted my head to the side and brushed my hair away from my neck. My breath stopped as his head drew nearer to my neck.
I felt every inch of Jay's power. It held me still. My mind forced to acknowledge his strength when I didn't want to. It was almost stifling and it drew me like a siren's song. I wanted this power and envy coursed through me.
Jay's mouth was less than a centimeter away from my neck and I till couldn't move. I was awed into submission. I felt something wet slide along my collarbone--Jay's tongue.
A dark chuckled slipped out of his mouth. "Is this what you think this filthy vampire wants to do, Leila?" He whispered in my ear. "Do you think I want to bite you?" I couldn't even move to nod my head in answer. He placed a kiss on my neck where my pulse beat erratically.

Trust a Vampire? You've gotta be kidding me.
VampirosI killed the only man I knew and loved. Well shit. Will I let the pain consume me or will I find light in my darkened days. Or will I die from too much exposure of Jay's cocky, arrogant, ignorant, unhelpful, snobby voice. I don't know, but probably...
