Chapter 4

The school day comes to a close and we all leave school and me and Shawn decided to go to our favourite diner. "Oh how did your Spanish exam go?" I ask him as we walk to the diner. "It was alright, I think I did okay but I suppose I could of done better" he says sounding slightly disappointed. "Don't worry about it" I say as I hold his hand as we walk into the diner. "Hey Shawn, hey Violet" says Albert. Albert works at the diner and has that granddad feel. "Hi Albert" I say as we take our seat. "Usual?" Albert asks. "Yep" Shawn says with a smile. "Coming right up" Albert reply's. "It's so peaceful in here" I say as Shawn sits opposite me in our booth. The diner is called 'Alberts' and is a classic 1950's style diner with jukebox's and bright lights with amazing food. Me and Shawn always come here and sometimes do our homework here. "You look beautiful by the way" Shawn tells me. "Thank you" I say blushing and smiling. "You look handsome, like usual" I say. I feel like the luckiest girl alive when I'm with him. "So it's nearly our one year anniversary" Shawn says a little while later as I drink my chocolate milkshake. "Already? Wow" I reply. "Well my parents own this cabin and I was wondering if maybe you'd like to spend our anniversary up there, you know just us?" He asks me. "Shawn that would be amazing!" I say full of joy, isn't that the best way to spend an anniversary? We soon left Alberts and me and Shawn both start walking home together. "So prom is next week and um I don't really know where I'm going with this sentence" Shawn says awkwardly. I laugh at him and he laughs too. We both arrive home with him only living next door to me. "Wanna come inside for a bit?" He asks and I agree. We both head up to his room after I say hello to his parents and little sister. I lie down on his bed and scroll through my phone, "what do you want to do?" Shawn asks me as he puts his phone down. "I don't mind" I say as I put my phone down too and look at him. Me and Shawn both smile as he leans in for a kiss and so do I. Things soon become heated and progress.
I love moments like this with Shawn, it personally makes the relationship feel more alive and fun. I went home that night feeling on top of the world but I couldn't help think about the cheerleading tryouts tomorrow.
