Chapter 16

Friday.
Day before prom.
"So how's you and Shawn?" Lily asks.
"Not good, it's weird you know? It's like all the love has gone" I reply. "You know and that just makes me think, where does the love go?" I add. "I don't know" Lily says sounding upset. "You still going prom together?" She asks. "Yeah, he's picking me up at seven tomorrow evening" I reply. "I don't want to go with him, I really don't" I say upset as Lily hugs me. "You'll sort it out, I know you both will" She says as we head over to cheerleading practice. "Hello girly pops! Aw Violet you look sad" Cheryl says with a smile. "Hurry up and get ready" Cheryl snaps. I go and get ready as I hold back my tears.
SHAWNS POV:
"C'mon Shawn! You have to talk to her" Tom says during basketball practice. "Why? I've already told her I'm sorry" I say and I already regret saying that. "You don't mean that" he says as we sit down on the bench and watch her do her cheerleading practice. "Your right I don't" I say. "You love her" Tom says and he's right I do. "I know" I reply.
VIOLETS POV:
It's the end of school and I go to the usual spot to wait for Shawn but he walks right past me, I don't think he saw me but he didn't bother to wait either. He doesn't care.
Saturday.
Prom night.
I'm ready for prom, I'm in my dress and light make up.
7:05.
Shawn still isn't here.
7:10.
No sign of Shawn.
I sit down on the couch and wait for him patiently and the bell rings at 7:15.
I get up and open the door and he's wearing a suit and tie and he looks so handsome and my body ached for him.
"Hi" I say. "Hi" he reply's. "You look stunning" he says as he looks up me up and down smiling. "Thanks, you do too" I reply. "Pictures everybody!" My mum says as Shawn comes inside and we take photos. "Have fun you guys!" My mum says as me and Shawn leave.
"My mum is driving us to prom if that's okay?" Shawn says. "That's fine" I reply with a smile. We both sit in the back and her mum complements my dress and tells me I look beautiful, which is nice, Shawn's mum is super nice, I love her accent too.
Shawn holds my hand but I move my hand away, I don't want to hold his hand.
