Chapter 43

I go back home and Lily is still sitting on my bed. "She's dating Grayson" I say back and it's hard to say. "I'm sorry Shawn" she says. "Just go" I say as I try to hold in everything. "Please" I add as i look at her and she nods her head and leaves.
Morning comes and it's Friday, I think? I'm not sure but I'm running late. Outside I hear the noise of a motorcycle and I get up from my bed and look. It's Grayson and he's outside Vi's. I see Vi as she leaves and she plants a kiss on Grayson's cheek before getting on the back and and riding of with him to school. Already she looks like she happy, happier than what she was a few days ago, just like she was with me. I make my way to school and I'm late, but I don't care that's the least on my worries. I walk through the halls at break and I see Vi in her locker and Grayson comes from behind and picks her up and she laughs and so does he. He puts her back down again and kisses her on the lips and she looks happy. They both do and that's the moment when everything makes sense to me. If she's happy then I should respect that. I want her to find happiness and if that's it takes then I'll respect that. She's happy.
I walk out to the field at lunch and I sit on a bench and think to myself. "Hey" I heard someone say and i realise it's Tom. "I know things must be hard right now" he says and I appreciate it. "You know, today would of been our one year anniversary, I was going to take her somewhere special" I say cutting in to his sentence. He looks at me surprised and I know he feels confused as to what to say to me. "I guess everything happens for a reason" I say taking a deep breath. "Not everything lasts for ever" I say with a hurt smile.
Weeks pass and me and Vi haven't spoken nor have me and Grayson. I miss her, I really do.
