Saudade [COMPLETED]

Chapter 1

I woke up with the banging sound of my alarm clock. Oh yeah, another hell day at the office.

I immediately took a bath, wore my corporate attire and put a light make up on. It is still 2 hours before 8am but it's better to leave the house at this time because the last time I was late for work my dad almost disowned me.

"Mom i gotta go." I kissed her on her left cheek. "Dad." Daddy just nodded as usual.

"Hindi ka na ba mag be-breakfast anak?" My mom sweetly asked.

"No mom, I'll just probably grab something on the way. Thanks tho. Love you." I rushed going out.

"Take care anak! Love you." She said and I just waved.

Pumasok na ako sa kotse at mabilis na pina andar papunta sa makati kung saan ako nag tatrabaho. And oh! I work as a fucking secretary for Lucky Blue Saleco. After graduating Cumlaude in NYU! Sounds great? It is great. Insert sarcasm.

I drop by at Starbucks just so I could buy coffee and officially start my day.

"Good morning ma'am Hailey!" Bati ni kuya Eduardo saakin. He's the guard in charge in the parking lot together with a valet.

"Good morning kuya Eduardo!" I greeted him back.

"Ang aga niyo nanaman ma'am, ikaw nanaman ang unang tao sa opisina." Natawa nalang ako sa sinabi ni kuya Eduardo. He's right, I'm the first and last person to go out of the office. Well kung hindi naman ako... si Lucky.

"Wala pa po si Mr. Saleco kuya Eduardo?"

"Wala pa po ma'am." Nginitian ko siya At nag pasalamat na.

I enter the elevator at saka pinindot and ika labing-pito na palapag.

I put my stuff on the desk at saka sinimulan ng tingnan ang schedule ni Lucky para sa linggong ito.

After arranging everything, he then shortly entered his office.

"Hailey give me the files for the housing project in cavite." I handed him the files which I already have.

"I called Engineer Samaniego yesterday and told him I'll call him again once you have approved everything." He just nodded while scanning through the files.

"What's my complete schedule for today?" He asked still without looking at me.

"You have a meeting with Mr.Frank and the board members this 10am to present and close the deal for his expansion in the country, lunch meeting with Mr. Hong for his Mall construction in Cebu City. 3pm is site visit in mandaluyong and 7pm for your date with Ms. Alcazar before you fly going to your 1 week business trip in Europe." He then looked at me.

"That's it Mr. Saleco." He's still looking at me. I'm mentally rolling my eyes.

"You assume it was a date." His right brow slightly raise.

"Oh sorry, meeting with Ms. Alcazar." My voice was so fake I almost choke. And I don't care if he's dating that woman or not! Mabuti nga yon at ng matapos na ang lahat ng to!

"What I told you about assumptions Hailey?" Hindi ko na napigilan. I lean on his table.

Oh please Lucky? Maglolokohan pa ba tayo dito? I wasn't born yesterday at wala naman akong pakialam!

I want to voice it out but "In the world of business there's no room for assumptions, everything should have and have research basis. Sorry, Anything you wish me to do Mr. Saleco?" He seems pleased with my answer.

"Just review the contract for Dr. Del Pilar for his hospital and give me your thoughts later." I nodded at saka bumalik na sa table ko.

I did what was I told but still keep track of the time cause I have to inform him 15mins before his meeting with the client and the board.

The phone beeped from the boss.

"Your parents will be here for the meeting this 10am and they'll be here any minute." Great. How can I forgot that?

"Hailey." Speaking of them.

"Good morning Mr. & Mrs. Mendres, Mr. Saleco is inside." Iginiya ko sila papasok.

"Tito, tita Good morning! Have a seat." Lucky greeted my parents, he even kiss my mom on the left cheek at nagmano kay daddy. My parents then seated on the couch in front of his table.

"And yet another mile stone for you hijo! This client is huge in New York!" Proud na proud na sabi ni daddy.

I wonder when will dad say that to me kahit isang proud lang wag na proud na proud. I feel so pathetic.

"It was Hailey's all efforts tito, she made it all possible and I have a little contribution with this deal." I smiled on my dad he just gave me a straight look.

"It's because she's learning from you, still all your efforts!" Tumayo pa si daddy para i-tap ang balikat ni Lucky. Lucky looked at me with the "I'm pitying you look." My blood boiled. He likes doing this! Always putting me on position like this ang ending napapahiya lang ako. I cannot count how many times he did this! Pabida talaga.

"Paano hijo mauna na kami sa conference room, see you there." He again earn a tap on the shoulder from my dad.

I opened the door for them, my mom just sweetly smiled and my dad didn't even glance at me.

I went back in Lucky's office and locked it.

"I already told you na kung magyayabang ka sa daddy ko don't ever insert me! Napaka pabida mo talaga! Always feeling mighty and everything!" I'm spitting fire and he's just looking at me sternly.

"Is that what you think haiz na nag yayabang ako? I was trying to give credits to you!" He got up on his swivel chair and walk his way up to face me.

"No! You're doing this so dad can compare your works with mine and we all know the end of it! I'm already a trash in my dad's eyes you don't really need to put emphasis on it!" I scream at the top of my lungs but he didn't even flinch even a bit.

He looked at me straight on the eyes and I feel like he's searching something through my soul. I pushed him.

"You have so much hate haiz, hate that causing pain for the people who's just trying to give you nothing but love. Well played, as always."

With that he left me dumbfounded.
