I sat in "my" room, a book in my hands but I wasn't paying attention to the story. My mind was too occupied for that. I'd asked the brothers what they meant when they said they'd teach me, but they ignored me and pushed on to other topics.
They talked about work - apparently Cayson is a doctor and Keon is a surgeon. It explained the reactions the two had when I fell asleep in the tub. Cayson was used to those types of situations. Keon was used to people being under anesthesia, never really having to talk to the patients until right before they went under and right after they woke up.
I shut the book and put it to the side. There wasn't much to do in the large house, but the brothers told me I had free reign. I could explore to my heart's content, searching all the rooms in the large estate. I could help the other omegas.
I stepped out of bed and looked down at myself, still wearing the oversized t-shirt from the night before.
I needed new clothes.
I exited the room and slammed into a hard body. My ass hit the floor before he, or myself, could react otherwise. He wasn't expecting me to just run out, and I wasn't expecting Keon to be standing outside.
He looked down at me, wide-eyed, his hand still up to knock on the door. They narrowed, however, when they zeroed in on bare waist. I'd applaud him the effort it took for him not to look lower, where it would be obvious I still wasn't wearing any panties, but I saw his eyes flick down and a light shine behind them before he turned his head away, growling.
"Yes," I snapped, standing and straightening out the shirt.
"I was going to see if you needed anything." He still wasn't looking at me.
"Would you at least look at me when you're talking to me," I grumbled.
He huffed out a breath through his nose. "If I did that, I'd attack you."
My cheeks burned and I crossed my arms over my chest. "Look at me, Keon."
And he did, no hesitation. His green eyes bore into mine with a heat I'd only ever seen between lovers. The light behind his eyes grew brighter as he stared at me. They moved back and forth between each of my own eyes, then down to my nose, they traced the shape of my face, and finally came to land on my lips.
"Is this what you wanted," he asked, his voice lower than I'd ever heard it before. "A wolf wanting to jump you? I don't have that much self control, sweetheart. So you should think carefully about what you order me to do."
I stared up at him wide-eyed. His eyes flicked up to meet mine and he smirked slightly, his full lips curving ever so slightly upwards.
My lower abdomen twisted and my wide eyes grew even wider. It felt like my heat was starting again, but without the burst of pain.
I looked down at my stomach in horror. "I...I just had-"
"It's not your heat," Cayson was suddenly there, staring down at me next to his brother.
I looked back up, back and forth between the two of them. "Then what-"
Keon growled, that smirk falling to show me his teeth.
Cayson tilted his head.
They both looked like they were about to eat me.
"Your eyes are glowing, sweetheart," Keon murmured.
What?
I blinked. I'd seen glowing eyes - like the ones in front of me - many times before. In an alpha, it showed multiple emotions, like anger, lust, and pure happiness. It only showed in omegas if they were...
