Their father and Alexis left after dinner, hugging me as if I was their own daughter. Sage apologized time and time again, and I knew he was being serious.

I wouldn't have forgiven him if it weren't for Keon and Cayson. Truly, I wouldn't have. I would have screamed and yelled until my throat ached like I had the moment I figured out what my father did to me. It just didn't seem right though. He had been put in an uncomfortable situation and he had two choices - cut open an omega and rid her of her reproductive organs, or be cast aside as the alpha he was.

Being trained as an alpha for thirteen years taught me that there was nothing worse than losing one's pride as an alpha. And technically, I'd lost that pride. It wasn't something I'd want to go through again, nor would I wish it on anyone else.

I puffed out a breath and looked at the brothers. "So how old are you two exactly?"

Keon glanced at me from the corner of his eye, his lip quirking slightly. "Oh, dear. If you found that out, I'm afraid you'd think us too old."

I rolled my eyes. "Let's say you both are around the same age, maybe graduated the same year. If you went directly to college to be a doctor and a surgeon, that takes nine to eleven years. Then you seem to have had your job for a little while...so thirty two?"

Cayson stared at me in disbelief.

Keon snorted and turned to his brother, a secretive smile on his face.

I raised my eyebrows.

"We were born two months apart," Cayson finally said. "We also graduated high school one year early. And graduated college a year early as well."

Keon smiled at me. "We're thirty. Ten years older than you, sweetheart."

Alphas aged well. So they may have been ten years older than me, but they only looked maybe five years older.

Their smiles faded and they looked down at me. I knew by the look on their faces that I wasn't going to like what they were going to say or ask of me.

"Can we see," Keon asked.

I knew what he was asking to see. I kind of hoped they would have pushed it off after Sage and Alexis left.

"I saw a glimpse of it after we got you from the bath," Cayson said. "But we never actually...saw it."

I clenched my jaw and turned my face away. Even after all these years, the scar was still thick and ugly, with visible pin points from where the stitches had been.

I finally gave one hard nod and they led me to the bedroom. They shut and locked the door and turned to me, waiting for me to shuck off my clothes so they could see the scar.

I cleared my throat and took off the dress, leaving me in only a black bra and panties.

Their eyes didn't glow when they saw the top of the scar above my underwear.

Keon was the one to pull them down far enough to see the full scar. He traced it with his finger, then traced the little bumps where the stitches used to be.

Cayson only watched, his eyes tracking Keon's finger. Then he stepped forward and grasped my hand.

"I know you don't fully forgive our father," he said, his green eyes sad. "But you did lift a weight from his shoulders that I hadn't even realized was there. He never told us he did that kind of surgery."

Keon knelt slowly until he was on his knees. He bent at the waist ever so slightly and placed his lips over the right side of the scar. He then continued to move towards the left, leaving no area of that scar unkissed. When he finished, he rested his forehead against it.
