To know that there were alphas in this world that didn't feel resentment towards omegas was like a slap in the face. I couldn't tell myself that they were lying. The proof was right in front of my face, with the way Theo looked longingly at the man outside. Theo was an alpha. Marcus definitely wasn't.

Seth even didn't seem to mind me standing next to him, let alone standing in the same room. He always had a gentle smile on his face and whenever he caught me looking, he grinned. Omegas walked up to the two of them and either hugged them or said hello like they were speaking to old friends, rather than someone ranked the highest.

Honestly, I liked the two men. They were comfortable to be around, even though they were alphas.

Seth groaned in happiness when a plate was set before him full of chicken, beans, and potatoes. Theo rolled his eyes and shook his head at his friend's overzealous behavior.

"So," Seth said around a mouth full of food, "what's your stance on alphas, betas, and omegas?"

I glanced at him. "People should act their rank."

"Is that your thoughts, or your mother and father's thoughts?" Theo had the decency to swallow his food before he spoke.

I didn't know how to answer that. Of course it was my father's thoughts, but that was how I was trained. My mind immediately ranked anything above an omega as higher up. I was taught to hate omegas, therefore I was taught to hate who I was. No, I didn't get a choice, but no one else did either. And in that sense, I agreed with Keon and Cayson. If everyone had a choice, everyone would be alphas.

I ran a hand over my face. "It was what I was trained to think. So it's my thoughts also."

"You're allowed to have your own opinions," Seth said.

The brothers shared a look. They hadn't spoken to me since Seth and Theo came over, and I wondered what their reasonings were. Maybe they didn't want to mess up what they were trying to do?

"That is my opinion." I glared.

Seth shook his head. "No, it's your father's opinion and he brainwashed you."

"Don't act like you understand," I growled. "You have no idea."

He shrugged. "I know your parents are hated among those of us who have different views. And I know your parents hate anything less than a beta, and your father only tolerates betas because your mother is one."

"Stop it," I warned.

"I don't think I will." He smiled. "Do you hate omegas?"

"No." I was getting annoyed. "I hate self-entitled alphas."

"But you think omegas should...what?" He raised an eyebrow in challenge. "Stick to being the lowest of the pack, being slaves to alphas and betas?"

"No." My voice was shaking.

"Ah," he pursed his lips, "and yet here we are. You sitting there wondering why you're at a table with alphas, because you think that you're below us."

"I am below you." Was he trying to piss me off? I think he was trying to piss me off. "That's the whole point. Alphas are doctors and surgeons and other shit that pays over six figures income every year. Betas get at least five figures. And then there's us, where everyone and their damn mother thinks that we are useless. We can't work. We're fuck buddies and slaves to your kind because you're too entitled to fuck your hand or clean your own damn house."

He wasn't phased at all. He just laughed, which irritated the shit out of me.

"So you grew up hating omegas," he said, leaning forward. "Now you despise alphas because your father and other people in his place have a huge stick up their ass. Yeah, Phoenix, great reason to hate alphas."
