I don't think it could have gotten any worse. I was on my way to that damn function, with Keon and Cayson close by, and Seth and Theo not far away either. Teo was somewhere else on the plane, but every freaking one of them could tell.

I was going to have my heat.

In the midst of alphas.

None of them commented on the subtle scent of an omega beginning her heat cycle. But I could tell by the looks each alpha gave me when they entered the plane. There was no other omega on the plane, and even if there was, my heat smelled different. More powerful because of the poison.

In twenty-four hours, we'd be sitting in that function. I'd either start during it, or after it, but by the scent, it wouldn't start before. They could induce it, but the chances were I'd be too dead to the world to be able to attend. I wouldn't mind not having to go, but Keon and Cayson said I needed to.

So we had to play Russian roulette with my heat and see if it decided to be a bitch at the function.

I could tell the thought worried the brothers. Because my heat was so strong and so different, alphas would see it differently. It wouldn't just be a disgusting omega in heat. It would be an omega giving off a scent that they wanted a taste of. Unless they were like Seth and Teo, there'd be no way to hold themselves back.

Thinking about that brought my mind to my father. What had he been thinking, putting a poison into me that could kill me, or have any alpha in a five mile radius coming to attack me? What was his thought process behind it? Either way, I could die? I could either get off my pills later in life and die from the power of it, or I could be raped to death by multiple alphas. Either way you look at it, he hadn't done it in my best interest.

I looked out the window of the plane and to the white tops of clouds below.

It'd be a lie to say I wasn't worried. Who wouldn't be?

"Perk up, buttercup." Seth slid into the seat next to me and leaned back, closing his eyes. "You'll be the greatest, untouchable, delicacy there."

Theo turned his head and pinned his housemate with a glare. "Have you no couth?"

"Fuck your couth," Seth murmured, peeking one eye open. "She smells delicious and no one is going to be able to touch her but her mates."

Keon and Cayson turned slowly and stared at Seth with narrowed eyes.

"Hm?" Seth sat up and grinned. "Willing to share?"

"Shut up before I rip your dick off of your body," Keon growled.

I smiled slightly.

"My dick is quaking," Seth teased.

Teo thought it'd be a good time to make an appearance, and immediately froze in the doorway at the sight of three angry alphas staring at one grinning like a fool. When his eyes landed on me, he shook his head in confusion as if to ask what had happened.

I shrugged one shoulder.

"Teo," Seth whined, "they won't let me love Phoenix."

Teo's face became stoic.

I pursed my lips to keep from laughing. Seth always had a reason for everything he said and did.

When I finally smiled, he winked.

"And mission accomplished," he said. He glanced over at the three annoyed alphas. "Pull the panties out of your ass-cracks, gentlemen. I was just trying to make her smile."

"You have a dangerous way of trying to make her smile," Cayson said, turning back in his seat.

I slapped Seth's arm when no one else was looking, and he grinned at me. He kicked my leg gently before standing up and going to the back where Teo was sitting. Teo, however, just stared at the other man with a look of complete and utter unamusement.

I turned in my seat. "Want to tell me what you are now?"

Teo turned his unamusement to me and stared at me. His eyes glowed just a bit brighter.

'Leave it,' a voice murmured into my mind.

I stared at Teo with wide eyes. He spoke into my mind. The voice was different from last time, but he definitely just spoke into my mind.

When I looked at Seth, he raised his eyebrows. He hadn't heard the voice, but he had to have been the other voice I heard when Mia was killed.

"Just answer the question." I sighed. "You don't have to explain what it all entails. I just want to know what you are."

The two men shared a glance, then looked back at me. It wasn't anyone else's place to tell anyone, except for them. They chose who they told their secret to. If they held it that close, that tight, it had to be something that was looked down upon. Or people were afraid of what they were.

"We're top alphas," Seth finally said.

I felt, rather than saw, everyone else's attention turned back to them. They all knew. I knew that much. I was the only one out of the loop.

I opened my mouth to ask for more, but closed it. I wanted to know more. Wanted to know what a "top alpha" was, and why they were so secretive about it. It didn't sound like something they needed to hide from others. And yet...

Teo and Seth both had the power to speak into someone else's mind. Teo, at least, could touch someone without physically touching them. Seth could sense another human being from however many miles away. That's about all I knew. If there was more...

Teo's jaw clenched.

Seth smiled slightly, and the air in the jet changed so drastically so quickly I could barely breathe.

"If you've never heard of top alphas," Seth said, tilting his head as his eyes began glowing, "I'd prefer it if you kept your mind innocent."

I couldn't speak. I could barely breathe. And the moment Teo looked up, his eyes glowing brighter than I'd ever seen on him, the air changed again. Became that much thicker. That much harder to draw in breath. No one else in the plane was having an issue breathing. It was just me.

Just omegas?

'No,' a voice said, 'not just omegas. Just you.'

The feeling that settled in my stomach was like the feeling of knowing for a fact you were about to be murdered. There were chills running up my spine, my chest felt heavy, and my stomach churned angrily. Goosebumps sprung up on my flesh and I became cold.

Two alphas, both staring at me, both with eyes not made for a normal alpha.

Teo and Seth wouldn't hurt me. I knew that. But my body was responding on its own.

I tried to speak.

"I think she's too inquisitive," Teo said. "Keep in mind, Phoenix, sometimes it's better to remain ignorant."

Then the glow behind their eyes faded and the air became breathable again. I choked in a breath, and the moment I started coughing, Keon and Cayson were at my side, rubbing my back and helping me breathe.

When I looked up at Seth and Teo again, they weren't even looking in my direction. Teo was typing on a tablet and Seth was looking outside, both like they hadn't just been taking the breath from my lungs and speaking into my mind.

How the hell was that even possible?

A/N: A little bit of an early update. Finished the chapter and figured why not?

Also, you guys got a taste of what Seth and Teo are (a very small taste, but a taste nonetheless). How do you feel about it?

If, when I'm done with this book, I decide to make another book for an alpha... Which alpha do you want it to follow? I have my mind set on either Theo, Seth, or Teo. But I can't figure out which one I want to write as.
