Storms POV

I ended up freezing.  My legs just locked.  Killed?  I thought.  Why would anyone kill me?  They know who you are.  I can hear them coming.  Maybe they can help.  Storm, they could help.  Sapphire's voice was hopeful.  Yea, and they can be just as bad as Eric is.  I said, as I burst forward again.  My leg was still aching.

It stung whenever something brushed against it.  I knew that I could end up making it worse by giving myself an infection but I wanted to go back to my pack, back home.  Storm, please let me explain.  Katara's voice was full of sadness.  Somehow I knew she was telling the truth.  I slowed to a jog and eventually stopped completely.

I could hear the coming footsteps, they seemed to be slowing down as well.  A stick snapped.  It wasn't in the direction I was looking.  A growl burst out.  I leaped to the right and a large grey wolf leaped out.  It was a rouge, from its scent.  I could tell it was a male warrior.  The grey wolf growled.  I bared my teeth.  Something about this wolf was too familiar.

It's grey eyes shown it's hatred.  It was the wolf that had tried to attack me, when Ash had saved my life.  I growled now, a low warning.  I bared my teeth again and took a step back.  I knew it was a risk, anyone could tell I was a girl.  The grey wolf took a step forward.  His growl was mixed with a snarl.

I took another step back and flinched as my wounded leg flared up again.  Something clicked inside of me.  I felt the fur on my back rise.  The grey wolf jumped forward.  I leaped back and then forward, straight onto the grey wolfs back.  My weight brought the wolf down.  He wasn't expecting me to jump on him.  He pushed up and I was forced to jump off him.

I stayed right in front of the grey wolf as it tried to circle me.  From above it might have looked like we were getting ready to dance.  Every once in a while one of us growled and took a swipe at the other one.  I took most of the swipes to my neck.  We kept going until they grey wolf decided to leap across the circle.  I leaped back but not in time to avoid his claws.

They left marks across my muzzle, it would heal.  I took advantage for the time he was taking to try to bite his neck.  I didn't really tear any flesh out but I managed to tear a lot of fur out.  Out of the corner of my eye, I saw the white wolf.  Katara looked almost absolutely terrified.

I could see that she wanted to help.  They grey wolf saw her too.  He leaped away from my and towards her.  I growled, louder than I ever did before, and jumped at him.  I scrambled to get up and got in front of Katara.  I crouched in front of her, a defensive pose.  Get out of here.  I said to her in a mind link.  I could hear her shock.  Even I wasn't sure why I was defending her.

I couldn't just let her get hurt, a white wolf was rare and they were supposed to be protected.  She whined.  I felt her muzzle brush along my flank, a guesture of thanks.  The grey wolf tried to get around me but I kept blocking him.  By some miracle, I was winning.  My first ever actual fight and I was winning.  Or I wasn't already dead at least.

The grey wolf was larger than me but I seemed to be faster, maybe slightly stronger.  I refocused on the fight.  If I got distracted, then he would definitely take advantage of that.  The fight seemed to last forever.  I knew I couldn't keep fighting like this for much longer.  There was a howl, a very loud and close howl.  Two more wolves came into the field.

One of the older black wolf and the other was a russet wolf.  They both growled and bared their teeth at the grey wolf.  Now surrounded, the grey wolf backed off from me slightly.  I kept my teeth bared until the grey wolfs tail disappeared.  Looking around, I felt my fur slowly go down.

Katara and Nightfury entered the field now.  There was a small whine, it was Jacob.  I took heaving breaths.  Something shimmering in a patch of blood caught my attention.  It was my necklace, somehow the grey wolf had gotten it off without me noticing.  I walked over to it and picked it up, the chain between my teeth.

It took some effort to get the chain around me.  As I watched the three wolves, I saw something that I hadn't before.  A vision of the older black wolf, but younger, fighting another wolf.  Katara was laying on the ground, I could tell she was hurt.  There were two pups.

One was black, the other... black and white.  The two colored pup had the my charm around it's neck.  I felt my ears go down.  A small whine slipped out of my muzzle.  Are you ok Storm?  Jacob asked. His voice cut the vision and it disappeared.  That was us.  Storm that was us as a pup.  That means...  Sapphire couldn't finish her thought.  I finished it for her.

That means they're our parents.  I cut off the connection to Sapphire and let the others in.  Who are you three?  Jacob growled.  His teeth bared again.  I was going to ask you the same.  Nightfury said in the same tone.  Growls stretched across the field.

I watched as Nightfury and Jacob walked slowly toward each other.  If I didn't do anything to stop them, then my mate and my brother might end up killing each other.  Despite how much my leg ached, I walked in between them.  I could feel the tension as I stopped in between the two of them.  Storm, please move, I don't want you to get hurt.  Jacob pleaded.  I knew he was telling the truth but I still didn't move.  I turned to Nightfury.

I didn't say anything in the mind link.  I looked at him pleadingly.  He watched me for a few seconds before he huffed and turned around.
