Storm's POV
Everyone in the Moon pack seemed to freeze. Nice going Eva! Now they definitely know who I am! I thought, panicked. "Sorry." She said softly. PJ got up. His eyes widened. "No f*cking way." He muttered.
I shook my head, dropping the chain. PJ seemed even more surprised. 'Soul's Influence' could be active in any object, even silver. So why a gold chain?
I winced, my ears going down. A silver blade. Why does it always have to be a silver blade? Then I remembered when Jacob got hurt, I had seen a silver blade. But he was bit by a shifter with silver implants. The blade was for me. PJ gasped, probably seeing the blade. "Someone get the pack doctor!" Eva yelled, at the same time as my mother.
My legs gave out from under me. Sarah, Sam, Eva, Cam and Hannah came over a few seconds after I hit the mat. "Storm, stay awake as long as you can. Okay? The doctor is on the way." Eva said hurriedly. "Nobody touch the blade. It'll only make it worse." Another voice said.
How did PJ know about silver blades? "You don't think we don't know that already? We still have to slow the bleeding down." Cam growled. I whined softly. Jacob... S-someone get J-Jacob... I thought slowly. "We will." Sarah assured me. A small whine slipped out.
It was getting harder to keep my eyes open, but I knew I had to. But... They were already closing, no matter how hard I tried keeping them open. The voices became muffled, before blurring out completely.
Jacob's POV
One moment, I'm talking to Ash, Storm's best friend from the River pack, and the next: I can't breath or stand. Of course the pack doctor was alerted immediately. Then something flashed in my vision. It was a silver bladed dagger. Something happened to Storm, I just knew it. It's not good. I can't even get through to Sapphire. Harry told me.
If our wolves couldn't talk to each other, that meant Storm was hurt: really badly. I had to get to the Moon pack camp. Soon. Of course, I wasn't allowed to until the pack doctor said I was clear too.
I hated waiting. It took two days before I could leave. Ash said he was coming with me. Even though I didn't like the guy completely, I didn't argue with him about it. A familiar scent greeted us after we left the hospital. It was Sarah. She must have come to find me.
"What happened?" I asked right away. This was not going to be something that stayed hidden from me: not when it involved my mate. Sarah explained the beta of the Moon pack was under the control of 'Souls Influence'. I didn't know much about it, but I knew it was trouble.
The three of us shifted and started heading to the Moon pack camp. Spell or not, nobody hurt Storm. Jacob: Pj has already been sent to the Flame pack. Their specialists will see if the spell is really gone. I left because Storm wanted you to come. She needs you right now. Don't go making stupid choices. Sarah growled in the joint link we created.
How did nobody see he had a blade?! Even pups get scared of the scent from silver! Ash questioned. He was right there. Silver had a very... Distinct scent. There weren't many things that would cover it either.
Nobody knows. PJ doesn't remember where the chain came from or the blade. Whoever it was, though we all have a guess, had used a mind stone to erase his memory. He had no idea. Sarah explained.
Just great. Dude, we have to get there. Something's wrong with Sapphire: I can't feel her anymore. Harry told me. I growled. We need to hurry. My wolf just said he can't feel Sapphire anymore. I told them. We ran faster. Goddess, don't tell me we're too late.
We met a patrol, who didn't bother us. The warriors must have assumed Sarah got Ash and I for that reason. We shifted and went to the pack hospital as quickly as we could.
We found Storm's parents, her brother and the rest of the Mist pack easily. The doctor was talking to them, when he looked over.
Nobody's POV
The doctor repeated the major parts to Jacob, Sarah and Ash so everyone was on the same page. "The blade is not normal silver. It was tampered with. The silver, once in Storm's system moved to create inflammation in her limbic system and her hippocampus." They explained. (Good job if you know what that means 😉)
Nobody really knew what that meant. "The limbic system is what gives emotion to memories, letting the person feel." He started explaining. "So she won't feel anything!?" Eve asked. The doctor sighed. "We won't know the extent of the damage until she wakes up and we can run a few tests. But it is a possibility." The doctor told the group.
Jacob growled. "Can I see her?" He asked. The doctor was going to reply when Sarah said, "He's her mate. I left to find him." The doctor nodded stiffly. He let Jacob go into the room, asking him not to break anything.
(I know this chapter is a lot shorter than normal. I'm having a hard time writing right now. I'm trying to write through it to see if that helps.)
