I've been working on updating a lot of chapters to make up for being inactive in this book for a long time. Hope you all enjoy. School is going to cut down on when I'm available to update. Sorry.

Storm's POV

Eva was limping now. We both were. The grey wolves had more experience than we had thought. Neither of us can go on much longer Storm. Eva told me in our mind link. I bared my teeth, backing away slightly. Help is coming soon, we just have to keep them busy long enough for it to arrive. I told her. Storm, you have to be careful. Sapphire told me. I growled as one of the grey wolves lunged at Eva.

I growled and tackled them off of her. Eva stood up, her ears were down. I bared my teeth again and circled one of the rouge wolves. Eva did the same. We kept the fight down to circling and jumping across once in a while. It was a tactic that prolonged a fight until help, or backup, arrived. I had managed to bite the grey wilf's neck. It wasn't enough to kill him thought. The grey wolf lunged across the circle and I didn't have time to move out of the way. Teeth dig into my side again. I whined at the pain. A growl came, the weight was forced off of me suddenly. A second growl came.

I lifted my head slightly. Eva walked over. They came. She thought in our link. I looked. There was a burgundy and a russet wolf inbetween Eva and I and the grey wolves. A black wolf came up and stood next to them. My vision blurred. Ash, Sam and Jake had been the ones to come. I let my head drop back down. My necklace, luckily, hadn't came off. The Moon pack charm on the chain was definitely covered in blood. I took a breath to try and slow my heart rate down, it would slow the flow of blood from the wounds.

I heard the fight pick up again, but someone was coming closer. There was a soft whine. She's worse than I am. Eva thought to someone. Someone nudged my head softly. I looked up, it was Ash.

You two just left? Without any help? He asked gently. I heard the sincere worry in Ash's thoughts. I pushed myself to my paws, causing Ash to back away. Storm please, you're the most hurt of either of us. Eva pleaded. I shook my head lightly. I'm not... letting anyone... get the best... of me... again. I thought, lifting my head up. Storm please. Let them help. That's all they want to do: is to help you. Sapphire pleaded to me. Ash nodded slowly. Can you please lay down Storm? The pack doctor should be on his way. Someone thought. It was Sam. I huffed, but laid down slowly.

I whinced at almost every movement I made where there was a bite mark or some other wound. I let my head drop and closed my eyes. I took a deep breath, dispite my side complaining about the action. There was a small pleading whine. I opened my eyes slowly. Jake had bent down. Stay with me, please. He thought in a caring, yet worried, voice. I took another breath. Jacob seemed to breath out in relief. He laid down, not close enough his fur would get covered in blood as well. Jake put his head down, still looking at me.

I moved my head so I could see everyone. Eva was laying down next to Sam, who was sitting next to her. Ash was the only one still standing. Everyone had a deathly expression. It was like they just watched someone die right before their eyes. You all look like you're at a funeral. I thought lightly, my mental voice strained.

Ash huffed. Hurt and still making jokes. When did you become one to try and lighten the mood? He asked. I barked a single low laugh. Since moving into the Mist pack. I've learned a lot about myself since then. I thought back.

Approaching footsteps drew my attention. Alpha Jace's greying coated wolf appeared. He loped over to everyone. What happened here? He asked. Eva took a breath. Storm and I were playing hide and seek with some pups when the attack happened. Two pups had wandered out of camp. We went to find them. She started.

We found three rouge wolves about to... attack them. Eva killed one. Sam, Ash and Jacob got here just in the nick of time. We... would have been dead if they hadn't come when they did. I finished. Everyone was looking at me. Most warriors would have lost consciousness by now. It's a miracle Storm hasn't yet. Ash said, sounding very much so shocked. I took another breath. Stronger than she looks. Eva thought. I let my head drop again, starting to feel more and more lightheaded as the seconds passed.

The pack doctor is here. Storm, you can go to sleep now. Jake thought gently. I took another breath, the feeling worsening. Darkness took over within seconds.

Time skip to when everyone is back at the pack hospital but four days later.

Jacob's POV

I was sitting in the waiting room. I had needed the least amount of time to be looked over. Those rouges hadn't been fast enough to catch me. I kept seeing her, Storm, laying their shifted as her wolf. Her fur was matted flat from the amount of blood she had lost. Even when she was hurting, Storm had tried to lighten the mood by making a half heated joke.

Now she was shifted, Alpha Jace having no choice but she order her to before she was completely out, and in the intensive care unit. Nobody was allowed in before the doctors were finished. The other she-wolf, Eva Storm had called her, had been put in a normal room. The black coated wolf, Sam, was allowed to see her since Eva was awake still. Ash had already been dismissed but he hadn't left.

A lot more of the River pack warriors had been injured in this attack. Alpha Jace, Luna Sky and Ash were busy checking up on everyone.

I wasn't allowed to see her, no matter what was said. Storm wasn't of age, but that didn't mean I couldn't just see her. Even if the mating bond wasn't complete, a person's mate's presence would help the healing process. But, no, I wasn't even allowed to go into her room. I had to know she was at least still alive. Storm's parents had been allowed inside, even her brother. I was the only one not allowed to see her. 'Not until she regains consciousness.' The River pack doctor said.

It was hard to know my mate was hurting, but not be able to do anything about it. I stood up again and walked around the waiting room for the I.C.U. The few other people in the room were either asleep or reading a book or magazine. The pack doctor walked over. I stood up. "We've done everything we can. Storm hasn't woken up, she may not for a day or two, but you can go in to see her. We believe she can still hear so talk to her, let her know you're there for her." He said. I nodded.

"Thank you." I replied before walking quickly towards the I.C.U. I found Storm's room and opened the door softly.

She was laying on the bed. The white cover was drapped over her. A nurse had changed her into a white gown. I walked over to the bed. Storm was hooked up to a machine, it monitored her heart rate. The beeps came steadily. I took her hand gently, just holding hers in mine. I took a breath. "I don't know if you can hear me... But I need you. I can't live without you in my life Storm. We don't even really know each other, but I love you so much already. I'll wait for you, I promise." I whispered. I lowered my head, my vision blurred.

I squeezed her hand lightly, as if that would do anything. Then something changed.

She squeezed back.
