Time skip one week

Storm's POV

This week has been crazy. I'd been able to spend a bit of time with my family, but it was proving PJ wrong most of the time I loved best. I say most of the time: because of the wolf on wolf fighting. Being not allowed to shift meant I couldn't fight in any of those rounds. I say rounds because thinking of it as a game was easier than thinking of it as possible training for a war of the packs.

PJ won, despite being half blind. Hannah was right when she said his other senses increased due to being half blind. PJ was very proud over his victories. Well, he had something coming with this last one. We were doing a hand to hand fight. Sarah told me I would be going against PJ for the last part too. That would be the moment I could show them a little bit more of my abilities.

PJ and I were the last pairing to go. Most of the Moon pack would be watching to see what their warriors had learned. I was actually pretty excited to show my family what I knew. I knew they were anxious to see, but were also excited to watch. I just hoped nothing went wrong. Don't think like that Storm, you'll cause it to happen. Sapphire told me. I know but I can't stop worrying about if something might happen. I replied to her. Sarah got everyone together before the matches start so we knew what to do.

My home pack warriors did gain a lot more confidence in fighting as their combat skills grew. I cast a look at the rest of the Moon Pack. They all looked as anxious as my mother did. Maybe it was because they believed that if the Mist Pack couldn't help them, nobody would be able to. I took a breath as Eva and one of the female Moon Pack warriors started. I knew Eva was quick on her feet, but this warrior was pretty swift on the move too.

Sarah looked at the two before taking a breath. "Are both people are ready?" She asked. Eva and the she-wolf replied with "Ready." Sarah half smiled. "Let the final test commence." She said loudly. Eva dodged a quick kick from her opponent, with was matched with a quick kick to her leg.

Eva was good at low blows to knock the person she was sparring off balance, I knew she was going to do that near the start of this. I half smiled. Sam probably looked the most worried. Eva was his mate, so he was going to be more worried about her than anyone else. Unless the she-wolf Eva was fighting also had a mate watching her. The two kept trading off blows. This would just keep up until one of them gave up, or got pinned by the other person.

Eva looked like she was having the time of her life. I could see PJ was glaring at me.

I knew I could give myself a small advantage by moving into his blind-side, but if I did that too long it would count as abusing her disability. He would be declared by winner by default. This was my one chance to make him eat his own words. I flashed PJ a grin, only earning teeth back, and some unneeded works in the Moon Pack mind link.

I understood baring your teeth to show many things, but he didn't need to curse. Eva eventually let her opponent pin her, since both of them were getting really tired. "Hazel's pinned Eva, this match is over." Sarah said, helping Eva get up. Hazel and Eva shook hands, saying "You did great" and "You ready had me going there." to each other. Sam was paired up with a guy named Jason. Cam had a guy named Andy. Hannah was allowed to go for a run as a Mist Pack member. She did improve a lot during the training.

The day was over before I got to go against PJ. Sam and Hannah won their matches. Sam lost his, fair and square: as he was forced out of the ring by his opponent. That meant PJ and I would be the deciding match in this. The rest of the Moon Pack had seemed to split up on which of us were going to win. You could imagine how surprised I was when a girl I'd never talked to wished me luck.

Sarah called everyone over after dinner to go over everything. "You all did amazing. Eva, Sam you two really put pressure in your opponents to make them try harder. I'm proud of all of you." She said.

We all nodded. "Well, we'll just to have too how Storm does tomorrow against my brother." Hannah said. Wow, first time she had called me by my real name... Wonder why. "Yeah, let's just hope I don't make the same mistake as I did with Cam." I said.

Well, Hannah had to find out about the eventually. "During my first training day with everyone, Cam and I were matched. He pinned me but I had a flashback to a time in my past that wasn't the best. The scars are gone by now, so I can't show you them. I was abused by two warriors in the River Pack. While I was having the flashback, I flipped Cam onto hid back. My vision blacked out and Cam got hurt." I explained in a rushed voice.

Cam half smiled. "She tried apologizing later, but I said it was fine. Storm wasn't anything like she is now, back then, we were all surprised to she she could flip me." Cam explained. Hannah nodded slowly. She didn't really seem to know what to say. I know I wouldn't know what to say either if I was in her shoes.

We all split up to go back to our rooms for the night. I wanted to talk to my brother, so I went to find his room. I ended up finding my parents room instead. The door was closed, but I already knew their scents. The father opened the door as I was about to knock. He seemed mad about something before realizing it was me there. We spoke for a while. Nightfury's room was two down from theirs.

My mother wished me luck, saying to be careful at the same time, while fighting PJ in the morning. How someone can try their best AND be careful and the same time, I'll never figure out.
