Chapter 15: Save Me

Irene pov:

"Why am I not able to catch anything?", I whine as I spot Jin catching his third fish. I pout my lips and shift my fishing  rod to another spot.

"Joohyunah look at this one. It's really big..Sorry noona?", Jin says as he pulls it out. He bytes his lips as he waits for my response. He's probably worrying cause he just removed the formalities.

"It's okay Jin, just call me Joohyun. It feels weird to be called 'noona' as were only an year apart. Your my friend and technically my senior too", I say as I smile.

"Waah. I was really worried for a second. Look at this. This one is really big", he says as he catches the fish in his hands and walks towards me.

"Yaah! How do you catch it? I have been trying for thirty minutes now", I say as I try to poke the fish. I'm really scared of animals and a  live fish is no exception.

"Don't worry. Touch it", he says as he takes my hands and puts the fish in them. I place my hands away from my face as I shriek.

"Omma! Take it away from me", I shout as I give it back to Jin. We both end up laughing together before he takes it into his hands.

"You're so cute", he says as he pinches my cheek and laughs. Omg this can't be happening! I think my heart just skipped a beat.

How can he be so cool when I'm so nervous?

He's really fun to be with. I have not laughed like this for a long time. It's difficult for me to make friends or get used to new people but Jin is a really warm person and comfortable to be with.

As i get back to my senses I feel my fishing reel moving. I think I finally caught a fish. It's a miracle for me. I try to pull it up but it keeps moving away.

"Jin help me. I think I have just caught one but I'm not able to pull it up!", I say as I call him out.

"Really? Let me help you", he says as he catches my hands from my back and helps me to pull it out. I don't think he's realizing it but his actions are really playing with my heart.

"Here you go", he says as we finally pull out the fish.

I finally caught a fish!

I can't believe this!

"Jin I caught a fish! Oh my god. I can't believe this", I say out loud and give him a hug. He wraps his arms around me as we jump and celebrate together.

After realizing our  proximity we both freeze in our places. We quickly move away and smile awkwardly.

Okay now we are completely silent!

"Wow did you see that- it's Irene unnie!", we hear a very familiar voice from our left. We quickly turn towards our left to find out the owner of the voice but we find no one there.

"Ahh..aren't you hungry?", Jin asks while breaking the silence. My stomach responds to him instead of my mouth. We burst into laughter as my cheeks turn red.

"Yeah I'm super hungry", I say as I smile and grab my bag.

"Let's grab some snacks before we go back", Jin says as he takes the box with fish in them and gives back the fishing equipment to the owner.

"But I can't really read the maps",  I say as I pull out the map. The sun is setting and the weather is too cold now so I rub my hands together to feel warm. 

"Don't worry I know the way. Come with me", he says as he puts forward his hand. I hesitate a little at first but grab it in the end. I was shivering just now but I immediately feel the warmth as I hold his hand. Then I notice the hot pack in his hand.
