“H-hello ate Akantha?” I decided to answer the call.

“Why the hell did you bring a phone and ride a jet ski?” hinampas ko ang balikat ng katabi ko dahil sa ingay nito and motioned him to keep quite. And he rolled his eyes and sighed.

“Hi Pia, Is that Zed?”

Kasi naman itong lalaking ‘to sarap bigwasan.

“Y-Yes ate.”

I heard her sigh. Is she mad at me? If she is, I deserve it, I deserve her anger. And just thinking about him, makes my heart ache again. Just how much is he willing to sacrifice for me? Ganito ba talaga siya katindi magmahal? I really need to talk to him.

“I guess my baby brother had made his decision.”

I frowned. “W-what do you mean ate?”

Alam niya na gagawin ito ni Scott?

“Scott is actually a matured person when it comes to making decisions—more than I am, actually. He knows what will make you happy that’s why he did what he just did. He also knows that you are kind and you’ll choose his happiness more than yours, kaya siya na ang gumawa ng desisiyon para sayo.”

I thought that I made the right decision, but I guess my resolve was not that strong that I made Scott do all of this. I thought I’m making him happy, but I’m actually making it hard for him. I thought I’m doing this for him, but I’m actually just doing it to protect myself. I’m so selfish.

“I love the two boys and I also love you Pia. I won’t tell you whom to choose, you have to feel it in your heart. Be true to what you feel, ‘coz no one understands it except you. So, just live in a way that makes you happy.”

Masiyado akong iyakin. I took a deep breath before talking again.

“P-pero ate… I know I’m hurting him…” I said, trying hard not to let her know that I’m crying.

“I know, but I am sure that he was ready for it before he decided to let you go…” she said.

“Don’t worry about him, my brother is a strong man, he’ll survive.” She jokingly added when I didn’t say a word.

“Is it—” di ko naituloy ang sasabihin ko nang biglang agawin ni Zed ang cellphone mula sa’kin.

“Ate, this is Zed. What did you tell this girl that she suddenly started crying like an idiot?”

“Yes, she’s crying. Snot is also dripping from her nose.” Sabi niya uli kay ate Akanta.

Bwiset na lalaking ‘to.

“Oh. Okay… I’ll give the phone back to her.”
