Chapter 46: Resolve

I don't know what happened to Sophie during the club excursion but I'm sure Zed has something to do with it. Halos di na namin siya makausap hanggang sa makauwi kami. Every time I ask her she would just smile and shake her head.

It's been a week since the excursion but she's still looks lifeless; she won't eat, she won't talk that much, she won't laugh. And it really breaks my heart seeing her like that. Alam kong di siya magsasabi sakin kung ano ang nangyari but I just can't let her be miserable because of that guy.

I was lost in thought until I realized that I reached Zed's house. After a few seconds the gate opened, the security might have recognized me. I don't know if he's in their house pero pumasok na rin lang ako.

Their house is really big but too lonely and it seems to be lonelier when I entered the house.

"Sir Scott, si Sir Seddrick po ba ang pinunta 'nyo?" salubong sakin ni Mr. Sanchez, ang matandang head butler sa bahay nila.

"Opo... nandiyan po ba siya?" tanong ko sa kanya.

Matamlay na ngumiti ang matanda. "Oo... nasa kwarto po niya."

"Ayos lang po ba kayo?" tanong ko sa kanya. Masayahin at madalas na nakangiti naman si Mr. Sanchez dati kahit na umalis si Tita sa bahay pero ngayon parang matamlay siya.

I also have a strange feeling like I'm missing something, it's like a big thing that I need to know. Pero ano?

"Ayos lang ako Sir Scott..." sagot naman niya. "Samahan ko pa po ba kayo sa kwarto ni Sir Seddrick?"

Umiling naman ako. "Wag na po. Sige aakyat na po ako."

"Salamat at bumisita ka uli Sir Scott."

Napalingon ako uli sa kanya at napangiti. "Namiss ko ho kayo." Parang lolo na namin si Mr. Sanchez siya ang madalas nagbabantay samin kapag naglalaro kami ni Zed noon at lagi kaming nagpapahabol dito. Malamang namimiss niya rin kami.

Napatigil ako ng pagpihit sa doorknob nang maalala kong di na nga pala kami katulad nung dati. Before I would just barge in to his room without even knocking but now it's different.

I knocked but he's not opening the door. I knocked again, but to no avail. I got annoyed so I opened the door myself.

I saw him sitting on the couch reading a book.

I stared at him in disbelief. So he really doesn't have any plans opening the door?

"Someone's knocking at your door and you didn't even bother moving an inch?" I said.

He looked at me for a second then looked at his book again. "I'm not expecting any guest and I'm too lazy to open it. Got any problem with that?"

"You're really an asshole, aren't you?"

"I could say the same to you so cut the bullcrap and tell me what the hell are you doing here?"

I guess it's really impossible for us to talk without being rude.

I took a deep breath to calm myself. "What the hell did you do to Sophia?"

He sighed and boringly fliped the page of his book. "Why can't you just be grateful that I dumped her?"

My hand clenched into a fist. "What did you say?!"

How can he say that like it's just a normal thing to do? Inuubos talaga niya ang katiting na pasensiya na natitira ko para sa kanya.

He smirked. "Don't be a hypocrite. I know you enjoy being her knight and shining armor."

I really can't believe na ganito na siya kalala. He's been heartless ever since her mother left pero hindi ganito kagrabe.
