"This is a team bonding exercise," Allura's voice cut through the silence.

Shiro stood up, obviously disagreeing with the idea. He opened his mouth, "this isn't a good idea, Allura!"

Shiro stole a glance at Lance, who was shaking violently. Shiro was the only one who knew. Shiro was the only one who was supposed to know.

"We have to do it, Shiro! Besides," Allura's head violently snaps to face Lance. "We all know your secret, L—."

Lance woke up in a cold sweat. His heart was racing and his breathing had joined in with that marathon. He closed his eyes and tried to calm himself.

A dream. It was all a dream. No one knew. No one knew, Lance kept telling himself.

His heart never let up, though. And every second that Lance spent sitting there was a second that Lance felt himself breaking more and more.

Lance's head started to pound and Lance knew he wouldn't be able to think clearly for the rest of the day.

Lance slowly got out of bed and decided to get dressed for the day. He stepped into his shower and washed his body, scrubbing until his skin burned.

After that, Lance got out and pulled on his binder and the rest of his outfit. Yes, our dear Lance is trans.

He was going to get the surgery and everything but he got sucked into space before he could.

He couldn't imagine how it must've been for his parents, learning there son was missing through him not attending his surgery.

His parents wouldn't get the news of him missing from the Garrison, no, his parents would get the first sign from Lance's doctors.

Lance hops out of his room and puts on a smile. A fake smile, cause after the nightmare Lance had, he doesn't think he'll be able to smile for real for a while.

Lance waltzed his way into the kitchen and sat down, waiting for food to be ready.

"Hey, Lance," Hunk said. His back was turned over the stove and he was making something. It smelled like space bacon.

"Hey, Hunk. How ya doing, buddy," Lance asked. Hunk hummed happily and Lance accepted that answer.

After a few minutes, everyone else started coming in. They mumbled hi's and hello's to Lance and Hunk.

Another minute or two later and Allura came bursting through the door. She looked disheveled but otherwise excited.

"Guess what we found," Allura said between breaths. Before anyone could talk she continued, "we found a gender changer!"

"What's a gender changer," asks Pidge.

Shiro glanced at Lance and Lance crumbled at the talk of gender. All his thoughts were drowned out by his brain yelling about how they're going to find out.

Lance wanted to run, to escape. But Shiro but his hand on Lance's shoulder so Lance couldn't. Lance felt a bit of comfort in Shiro holding onto his shoulder, but Lance still wanted to run for his life.

"It changes gender, duh! It was mostly used by men when our empire still stood, cause in times of need we'd have to reproduce more. Today we're going to do a bonding exercise with it!"

Everyone went silent until Shiro broke the air, "a... bonding exercise." He drags out his words and looks at Allura skeptically. "Why," he asks. "How would that help the team?"

"I've already thought of that! It would allow us to understand the other gender. Pidge would understand Keith and Hunk more and the boys would understand me and Pidge more!"
