Lance stayed in his room after that. No one questioned him, no one visited him, no one went near him. They were too scared to.

They were scared of hurting Lance more. They were scared that Lance would be mad at them. They were just scared.

But Lance wasn't mad, he was recovering. No one came and, thus, Lance wasn't getting hurt. Lance was slowly becoming better.

Whenever Lance looked in the mirror, he didn't feel complete hatred. Sure, Lance got lonely but he would think that this is good. That him being alone is good. I mean, he's getting better, right?

So, Lance didn't leave and no one ever came. Lance had been in his room for about 3 days before he felt a hint of hunger in his stomach.

He had gone so long without eating before being out in the pod that he didn't realize how hungry he truly was. Lance didn't eat because of what the others were saying.

Lance needed to get better. Be a better fighter, be a better teammate, work harder. Lance didn't have time to eat.

But not anymore. Now, Lance was getting better. His cuts were healing and his head wasn't filled with the familiar buzzing from before.

So, three days in and Lance decided to leave to get food. He was hungry and eating was a step to getting better.

Lance closed his eyes tight and hesitantly opened the door. He was scared. He was scared like his teammates. All of the paladins were scared.

When Lance opened the door he was met with Hunk. Hunk was holding a plate of food and was about to knock on Lance's door.

"Wha—," Lance starts to ask.

Hunk coughs awkwardly and pulls his arm back. He holds out the plate of food and apologizes, "I'm sorry for everything I said. I didn't want you to go hungry though, so I brought you this plate of food."

Lance takes it and smiles at Hunk, "thank you, Hunk. I forgive you."

Hunk beams back and starts to run off, "thank you, Lance! I hope to see out today!"

Lance nods back and watches Hunk leave. Lance retreats back into his room with the food and eats it in silence.

After he's done, he thinks about Hunk and Hunk's kindness. Maybe the rest of his teammates will treat him with the same niceness and happiness.

Lance's heart flutters with the idea of his teammates not being mad at him and decides to leave his room.

He walks to the door and silently opens it. There he's met with Keith. Keith gives him an awkward smile and holds out Lance's bayard.

Lance takes it hesitantly and gives a small smile when he feels the familiar bayard in his hand.

"I— uh, I found it near Blue. She told Red and Red told me that I should return it to you," Keith rubs the back of his neck.

Lance looks up at Keith smiles at him, "the famous emo smiling?"

Lance laughs at his joke and Keith does too. Keith's happy. One step closer to having Lance back, he missed him.

"Well, I'm going to go train. I hope you'll join me someday," Keith says. Lance nods and watches Keith run off.

Then, Lance takes a step back to put the bayard away before moving forward again. As he takes a step out of his room he gets slammed into the floor.

He sees Pidge on top of him, a screen in front of her face. Pidge stands and holds out a hand, which Lance takes. Once they're both standing Pidge starts talking.

"Oh, sorry, uhh," Pidge starts before looking up. "Lance!"

Pidge jumps at Lance and pulls him into a hug. They both fall back on the ground and Lance can't help but laugh at Pidge.

"Hey, Pidge," he says.

"Lance, you're back," Pidge shrieks.

"And I'm here to stay," Lance replies, happy. That's three paladins that gave him happy responses. Lance thinks this is going pretty good.

Pidge gets off of Lance and starts to walk away, "well, I'm looking for ways to upgrade the lions so I have to get going."

"Call me if you need help," Lance yells back and laughs when Pidge almost walks into a wall.

Lance decides to finish his journey by looking for the rest of the team. He walks for a little while before coming across Coran, who greets him back with a hug and head pats.

Then, Lance sees Allura, who welcomes him back with a short side hug and a few words of sorry.

Lance finds Shiro in the kitchen, with no one else there. Shiro, despite what Lance thought would happen, looked pissed.

"Lance! What are you thinking? You can't just disappear for days and plan for all of us to be fine," Shiro yells.

Lance shrinks back, "but—."

"No! No buts! You have a job as a paladin to help this team! You can't just run off whenever you want! Then you're useless... wait, you were useless anyway," Shiro yells.

Lance feels a pang in his heart. No ones around. Lance tries to walk away but the door gets blocked by Shiro.

"Please, Shiro, I need to go somewhere. Please," Lance begs. He can't die. Not here.

His chest burns and he feels blood going up his throat. He coughs up blood and falls to the floor.

He's going to die. Lance is going to die. Lance gives a small smile, blood pooling around his body, "this is where I die. Never thought it'd be this way."

Shiro's eyes soften and he goes over to Lance, "Lance? Lance!"

But Lance is gone. Shiro killed Lance. The others couldn't know.

So, Shiro lied. He didn't know what happened. Lance walked in and was bleeding. No one knew how he died. No one knew what caused it.

And Shiro has already deleted the footage of it happening. Everything needed to figure out the murder disappeared.

No one knew who was to blame. No one knew who killed Lance.

No one except Shiro.
