The first thing she noticed when they reached the bottom of the towering hill was how much more overgrown it was compared to when she had ran up there in a panic. There were far more weeds and the grass' length had just about tripled as if it hadn't been cut for a very long time.
Edward and Andy made their way through the long grass, Andy in the lead and her wild haired friend snipping away at the grass as they went. She couldn't wait to get back to her parents and all her friends. She had been terrified that she was never going to see them again, and now was her chance to stay safe.
As they walked down onto the paved road, they looked around to see if anyone was watching them, but strangely enough, no one was there. Not a single person.
"Hello?!" Andy called out, trying to catch someone's attention, and making Edward jump slightly. "Can anyone hear me? There's a psycho up there who was trying to kill me!" She gestured enthusiastically back toward the mansion, causing her friend to lurch backward, as she almost stabbed him in the face.
"Whoops. Sorry." She said in apology.
"It's okay." He said nervously, then peered over Andy's shoulder at something. She turned to see a man in a hoodie and jeans standing there staring at them as if they were aliens. The strange thing was, she didn't recognise him. In her town it was pretty hard not to know someone or at least have heard about them, as the gossip was out of control, but this guy she had never even seen.
"Um... who are you and what do you want?" She asked, forgetting her cry for help this man had probably heard.
"A-Andy..?" He stuttered.
"Yeah... how come you know my name but- I don't know yours? Are you new? I thought I would have heard if there were new people moving in, but then again..." she tilted her head. "You do kinda look familiar."
"I'm..." he gulped, his eyes darting around hurriedly. "I'm Jordan. It's been 20 years."
