When your language is similar to Spanish but not Spanish
But you understand a bit of Spanish
So when you hear your parents talk,
You think they're speaking Spanish
And you're like: what? They're fluent in Spanish?
Then you realise
"Oh shit.
No.
It's my own language.
Whoops."
In Filipino Kwarto (meaning bedroom) is pronounced like the Spanish word Quattro (meaning four)
So my parents were talking
And my mum said 'Nasa kwarto ni Isahn?' Which means 'is it in Isahn's bedroom?'
But I thought she said 'Is it four in Isahn?'
And I was like:
Dafaq mum?
