Kayline McKenzie

Being an assasin may seem like fun and games, but every game has steps.

One. Break the ice. Gain their trust. Let them welcome you into their lives. Become their best friend and always be by their side.

Two. Collect data. Find every detail, every speck of dust, every grain of sand. Make sure you know every prefect trait and every flaw of your victim and your assignment.

Three. Don't let them see underneath the mask. Don't ever let them see who you truly are. Which is their enemy.

And of course with every game, they come with a set of rules. Don't get caught, don't let them figure out your mission. Be merciless, and show no fear. And the most important rule of all... don't fall in love.

Ice cold water splashes on Kayline's face. The cold burns her sensitive skin as her cheeks rise in temperature to keep her warm. The distraction makes Kayline lose her footing, and she falls back into the chilly basin. Her head pops out of the water.

Instead of spitting out the water, she swallows it, grateful for the refreshment. She turns her head to see her enemy tower over her. Her opponent curves her lips in exaltance. Kayline's legs slam into the enemies calves. She tumbles down into the water, her body completely submerged in water.

"It's called Karma. And it's pronounced ha-ha-ha!" Kayline retorts to her enemy... in other words, her sister, Christina. Christina stands up in the water drenched. Kayline laughs before her sister launches herself at her. Christina brings her knee up to Kayline's gut, but she deflects it. Kayline's elbow reaches her sisters chin, causing her head to whiplash around.

Using the distraction, Kayline kicks her knee. Christina falls to the ground. Kayline can hear her breath push through her teeth. She circles her sister while she adjusts to the pain.

Christina is not only Kayline's sister, she's her sparring partner.  They are thee A-list fighters. The executioners.

Christina yells out a war cry, giving her the telltale of the element of surprise. Christina comes running toward Kayline and starts to attack. Christina goes offense. Kayline goes defense. Kayline goes offense. Christina goes defense.

Kayline analyzes Christina's tactics. She can tell which foot she prefers over the other. Kayline has spent many years with Christina. She knows exactly which moves Christina is going to do next. But that is why whenever they fight, there is a paradox. Because Christina knows every move Kayline will do next. It is an endless fight between wits and brute strength.

Kayline sees her sister's eyes lost in thought, making an entrance to her victory. Kayline punches her square in the jaw. Christina catches Kayline by suprise, using the momentum of her fall to kick Kayline in her stomach.

Kayline doubles over from the pain of the blow. Her lungs burst into flames, begging for the smallest hint of air. She does her best to recover from shock, and remember how to breathe. In addition to the lack of food, her stomach's emptiness is amplified from the kick.

Christina hops over Kayline's shoulder, landing on her back. She pulls Kayline's head backwards, forcing her head to arch back, leaving her neck exposed. She hears the release of a knife and, the next thing she knows, she has a knife against her throat.

"Choose your words carefully, for they may be your last." Christina whispers to Kayline. Christina's breath tickles underneath her earlobe, making her nerves react. Kayline laughs while her neck bends in reaction, the knife returning a small cut from the small movement. Christina just simply rolls her eyes. She hops off Kayline's back and walks across the basin.

"How am I supposed to take this situation seriously if you laugh all the time?" Christina chuckling herself.

"How am I supposed to fight, if you keep tickling me?" Kayline sways back at her. Christina spins at her heel. Kayline quickly analyzes Christina. Right foot in front. Arms loose around the waist, Kayline says to herself. Christina gives a quick examination over Kayline, as she did her, and gives Kayline a smirk. How is it that her sister is even more beautiful than she is? How is it that Kayline didn't get a fraction of the beauty DNA her sister did? She had no idea.

"Again." Christina commands. Kayline steps out of her thoughts and charges.
