Chapter 37

What's the Plan?

     " What!" Chris yells. She hops off the bed and tackles her sister in a bear hug. They both laugh. When Chris pulls away, Kay's face shows pure exhaustion. Chris gives her look. Kay pulled another all nighter. The sun starts to show its face over the mountain. The golden rays shine on Kay's hair and her face. Chris was always jealous of her. Kay always has had a rare beauty.

Her face shows kindness but her sharp green eyes show a fierce fire that smolders until someone breathes on her. Kay's blonde hair flows just above her her broad shoulders. Kay is a little taller than Chris, but she is also thicker. But it's not from baby fat, she's just got muscles. And let's just say that a certain bust fairy blessed her yet skipped over Chris. Kay promises Chris that it's a pain, but like the saying goes, you don't know what you have until you lose it.

" Nice job, princess." Noah teases her. Kay's too tired to even glare back at him.

" I'll give you guys a rundown of the plan... after I take a power nap." Kay says in between breaths. Chris smiles and Kay leaves off to go to bed.

" How long are her power naps?" Noah groans like a child.

" Why do you want to know? No offense, but I doubt that you will be apart of this mission." Chris says as she leaves the room. Chris hears Noah's scoff behind me.

" You already have doubts about me." Noah says confidently.

" I haven't seen you do anything except play guard." Chris raises her eyebrows at him. He glares at Chris. When they make our way downstairs, the city view from the window is breathtaking. The yellow glow spreads through the entire city, building by building. The breeze is brisk, and Chris notices that a window was left cracked open. Go figure, Kay get's hot so easily.

" Plus, with everything going on with DarkMoon academy. We have no idea where you stand, even if they let you live." Chris adds.

" I thought they-"

" First rule of spying Noah," Chris interrupts him, " trust no one. As soon as you become useless to them, they will kill you." Chris tells him. Despite her best efforts, Chris has become attached to Noah, he's like a clone of her, just of the opposite sex. Chris would like to have him around.

" Well, I know that rule. What do you think we do in the gang? Sit around and twiddle our thumbs?"

" Well based on the gangs we've taken down..." Chris looks at him. He smacks his lips and waves me off.

" Whatever. I'm resourceful, even more than you know." He wiggles his eyebrows. Chris pretends to gag.

" Take it down a notch playboy." Chris mumbles. They collapse on the couch.

" It's just- I want to help. I want the people who hurt my sister to pay for their wrongdoings. They killed a dozen people. They almost killed Kay. Believe it or not, I understand war. Even though there is chaos, there is a way to do things, an order. But this- this is..."

" Yeah." Chris completes for him. From what Kay was telling them earlier, The King and Queen of Andorai already knew what was coming. They must've been suspecting an attack for a long time. That means The Boss knew about it, too. Why wasn't there a debriefing? Why weren't they told what was going on? What is going on?
