This is definitely not a flu. Magdalene starts shaking and from Kayline's knowledge of biology, it looks like she is having a seizure. Goosebumps flow through Kayline's arms and she immediately takes action.
" Noah, the keys are on the counter!" Kayline shouts to Noah. He understands and quickly grabs them. Kayline carry's Magdalene like a babe and runs to her truck. She feels so light and Kayline feel's her fragile bones. Kayline sits down and holds her in her lap. Her body is still shaking. Noah climbs in and revs up the engine.
Noah starts to drive crazy fast down the road and Kayline calls Tracy.
" Hey, Rosie, how are you?" She sounds happy. Kayline hates to be the one to ruin her mood.
" It's Magdalene! Noah and I are taking her to the hospital! " Kayline stops talking because Magdalene is having another another coughing episode. She spits more blood on Kayline. Kayline hangs up on Tracy, adjusting her arms, so she can protect Magdalene better from Noah's wild turns.
Kayline looks at Magdalene as she is still shaking. Kayline doesn't know if it's because it's chilly, or if the seizure still has a hold on her body. Magdalene's face is pale, making her veins pop out, filling her face with purple and blue.
They make it to the hospital and they run Magdalene inside. The doctors that Kayline called before Tracy, run up to them and grab Magdalene. They set her on a gurney and give her a shot to stabilize her. The doctors signal to move her and they are running her down the hallway.
Kayline knows the drill. Immediate family only. So she stays behind, as Noah follows them closely. One of the nurses stay behind with Kayline and asks her some questions.
After a couple of minutes, Tracy shows up and she sees Kayline. Her eyes incontinently fill with tears and she runs up to Kayline.
" She is going to fine, the doctors just took her in. They have her a shot to sterilize the seizure. As of the rest, I have no idea." Kayline says, doing her best to comfort Tracy. Tracy puts her hand to her mouth and tears stream down her face.
" My baby girl." The nurse is talking with Kayline before she notices Tracy and asks Tracy if she would follow her but Tracy refuses.
" I can't see my daughter like that. It would break my heart." Tracy cries.
" Tracy, she needs you." Kayline tries to convince her. Tracy looks at Kayline like she sees me for the first time. Then looks at her clothes. Soaked with blood and vomit.
" Oh, sweetie. I'll run back to your house and get you some new clothes." Tracy says, trying to hard to stay distracted.
" No. No, Tracy you need to be in there with you daughter." Kayline argues.
" I- I can't." Tracy gives a breathy answer. Kayline looks at her with sympathy. Tracy turns and leaves.
