It's late at night or Chris guesses, early in the morning. Noah went to bed a long time ago, same with Tracy.
Tracy was kind enough to let them stay at her house tonight, until Kay and Chris go back to the academy and Noah and Tracy move to Landow. Or wherever. Ugh, Chris doesn't know what they are doing. They have been kicked off the mission. That has never happened to them before. Something big is going down, but this is what they were trained for. They were trained to fight and lie. They have to do something.
Chris looks over at Kay who is sitting at the island in the kitchen. She must be looking at the Doctor's files again. Chris worries for her. She works too hard and never gets the credit. She puts herself on the line too much.
" Chris, come look at this." Kay says blantenly. Chris stands up and walks over to her. Chris leans across the island to get a better view of the folder. Kay shows her a piece of newspaper, something about homeless people. Kay must've seen Chris's expression and turns the page to the other side.
" It's some sort of competition they are creating. They are bringing a bunch of princesses from their allies countries and kingdoms to have an arranged marriage. I mean, I can't get it out of my head. The timing is just... I don't know, I think it could mean something." She tells Chris. Kay puts her face in her hands. Chris could tell she was tired. Kay gets stressed pretty easily, too. Hmm, time to work Chris' magic.
" I mean, what could it mean? I mean they are throwing a plague at us and they celebrate with a wedding? It could be a cover for something." Kay nods and Chris sees a smile. Kay's smile goes away and her eyes widen. She stands up. Her face is so bright that Chris can practically see the lightbulb go off above her head.
" What do we do best?" She asks Chris. Chris arches her eyebrows and shrugs her shoulders, because they are the best at everything. Duh.
Kay rolls her eyes and smirks.
" We lie."
