❛ 𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐥𝐚𝐧. 𝗇𝖼𝗍 𝖺𝖽𝖽𝖾𝖽 𝗆𝖾𝗆𝖻𝖾𝗋

♡ Two hearts into one ♡

Chaehyun was laying on his stomach in a star fish position on the practise room floor, a pout playing on his lips and eyes narrowed into a scowl. For the last two and a half weeks, he had been in an internal battle with himself that no one not even Lucas, could help him with.

His best friend slouched against the wall, eyes on Chaehyun biting back the amused smile. Chaehyun hadn't been able to keep his emotions inside for much longer and as usual, ended up blurting them all out to Lucas who surprisingly hung on to every word and took it in.

"You could just tell her how you fe—"

"What no? I'm a wimp. Why would I do that?" Lucas couldn't hold back his grin and looked down at the phone in his hand to see the name and the timer of how long the call had been on. He ended it without a word and he thanked the lords that his headphones were plugged in.

It wasn't long before the practise room door was thrown open as a breathless Yeri in her practise outfit was standing there, staring at her two friends with wide eyes. Lucas kicked his legs excitedly and covered his mouth hiding the squeal. Chaehyun's eyes snapped towards him, a glare now forming as an accusing finger flew towards Lucas.

"Lucas called me and I heard—"

"You called her? Wow, what happened to our talks being private and confidential?" His head shifted towards Yeri with wide eyes. "You didn't hear the part about the pimple on my butt did you?"

"Well no..."

"Oh thank god, that would've been embarrassing."

Lucas patted Chaehyun's leg before lifting himself up. "I'll give you guys time to talk alone, but Yeri if he comes out of this room with a frown or tear, I'm coming for you. Love you Chae!"

"I love you too!"

Lucas left the room leaving Yeri and Chaehyun alone. The tension was thick in the air. Yeri took a seat on the floor and crossed her legs, fiddling with the lace of Chaehyun's shoe. There was a firm blush on her cheeks, it was almost like she had made the confession because Chaehyun didn't seem bothered in the slightest. Though, she knew he never really cared about things like this.

As scared as he was to tell her, he wasn't going to make a big deal about it because he knew it would make the situation a lot more awkward, so he stayed calm. Acting unbothered had a better chance at saving his friendship if she didn't feel the same way.

"So you like me?" Her voice came out as a squeak, cheeks lighting up a darker shade of brown.

Chaehyun nodded. "That's what I said, so that's what I meant. Yeah I believe I am." The words rolled off his tongue so calmly and smooth, not a stutter to be heard. "Yeri if you don't feel the same way then you don't have to sit there thinking of ways to let me down easy. Just say it and we'll try and continue our friendship as though this never happened. I don't want you to sit there feeling—"

"Who says I don't feel the same way?" Chaehyun let out a shocked 'oh', staring at her with wide eyes, finally showing a little bit of emotion. Yeri smiled shyly. "I've been in love with you since a year after we met."

Chaehyun's eyes widened. She had watched him go through relationships, held him when he cried over Dahyun and lifted him up when the two of them fought. She had been there through every step of the relationship that left a stain on his heart...loving him yet said nothing.

"In love?" Chaehyun squeaked.

Yeri nodded. "I know you don't like rushing things but I have, it's been that long that I've fallen in love with you and I just...yeah."

Chaehyun smiled. He knew he loved her for sure, but he hated to rush things but he knew that he more than liked her. With his arms stretched out behind him, holding him up, Chaehyun ran his tongue across his lip and smiled as Yeri flushed. She leaned forward and hid her face in his leg.

"Don't do that," she whined.

"Do what?"

"The tongue thing! It's extremely attractive and makes me want to kiss you!" She snuggled her face closer into his leg whilst Chaehyun sat with his eyes widened. He didn't expect her to be that forward. A smug smile crossed his lips.

"Then why don't you?"

He pushed himself off of his hands as he looked up, shyly she got on her knees and moved closer to him, no time was wasted as cupped her chin, thumb brushing over her skin and leaned in, pulling her into a soft kiss. Their lips moved in sync, eyes fluttered closed and their hearts finally began to fit together into one.

The kiss went on for several seconds before the door burst open.

"HOLY—CHAEHYUN AND YERI ARE KISSING!" Chenle's voice cut through the practise room and before the pair could even blink, everybody in NCT was piled into the room, staring at them. The Red Velvet girls soon burst in after them.

"Surprise?" Chaehyun grinned as the large group stared at them in shock.

"Well...shit."
