KIM LACHLAN SMOKING AND DRINKING UNDERAGE

Another day, another Kim Lachlan scandal. Since 2017, there's been an unconfirmed rumour circling around NCT's Kim Lachlan after a picture surfaced of the idol supposedly holding a cigarette packet. Chaehyun never came out to flat out end the rumours, however, he did hint towards it as he said; 'We all do things we aren't proud of.' Since then, it's been an ongoing battle between netizens as some believe the rumour is true and think that Lachlan should not be apart of SM at all. Others think that whether the rumours or true or not, it is nobody else's business. It's a known fact that Lachlan hasn't had the easiest path through life but is that an excuse for underage alcoholism and a smoking habit?

The rumour was confirmed by a source particularly close to Lachlan who has asked to remain anonymous. The source claimed: 'He has been through a lot. Many people suffer and do evidently turn to alcohol and drugs. Chaehyun had a smoking habit from being fifteen. He was drinking by the time he was 16. He was reckless, it wasn't until he met the boys of NCT did he stop drinking completely. They helped him through that problem, but none of us could seem to get him through the smoking habit. He has finally stopped, but not completely. He goes back to cigarettes when he feels stressed to a certain extent or when his anxiety gets too high. He refuses help for his anxiety and possible depression. In my personal opinion, he's a ticking time bomb that is very close to exploding. He's a lost cause.'

Chaehyun recently ended his relationship with best friend, Red Velvet's Yeri and has seemingly begun to go downhill once again as he was spotted crying two days ago. Some sources claim that he was seen leaving the prison after what appears to be a visit to his Mother. The idol and his parents have openly had their problems with Chaehyun even being beaten to a pulp In London after going missing for weeks. His mother was behind the kidnapping, which leaves fans questioning why he was there and why he was crying.

To say Chaehyun was losing his mind would be a large understatement. It had been two days since he last spoke with his Mum and the only person in his family which he explained everything to was Daeyoon, who was distraught, to say the least. He'd avoided his grandparents and had been putting off meeting Hanra. He knew he had to, but having her confess would make it all too real and he didn't want that. Chaehyun didn't want any of this to be real. He hoped he was going insane.

The boys had been trying to rehearse for the show, but Chaehyun's mind was completely somewhere else and when Haechan questioned him on it, well...he finally snapped.

"Chaehyun, calm down. This is a rumour that's been going on for so long, it's not surprising. You'd have it worse if you hadn't gone through this with the company. But you did, everything is fine. You've dealt with worse hate on the internet," Jungwoo assured him as he wrapped his around Chaehyun's torso, leaning his head on his chest. Chaehyun sighed and returned the hug, attempting to be subtle about it.

"It's not that I'm worried about. It's the fact that my little sister is the one who tipped them off about it. My mum told me that my dad had been trying to get into her head. She asked me to put a stop to it, but how can I do that when the little shit hates me? At this point, she's the human equivalent of the fucking Shadow Monster."

"How does that fit at all?" Asked Mark.

Chaehyun shrugged. "It doesn't. I just wanted to bring up Stranger Things because season 3--"

"Shut up. We have worse matters at hand than your nerdy tv show." Johnny slapped his arm causing Chaehyun to scowl.

"You're just jealous because Finn Wolfhard complimented my choice of dog names in an interview. Also, Millie Bobby Brown, my British homie, said that she actually knows who I am. I'm practically apart of their little squad now. Get on my level and then we'll talk."

"Chaehyun, we have bigger problems than that and aren't the Dreamies enough for you? Chenle and Jisung practically cling to your leg like toddlers."

"Can we get back to the fact that Chaehyun just called the woman he's hated for years, 'mum' and the fact that he didn't have a look of disgust whilst doing so. I'm sorry but have I been in a coma? Since when did you tolerate her?" Haechan interrupted the conversation between Jaehyun and Chaehyun.

"She's sick. She's been moved because she's sick--"

"Yeah, no shit. She kidnapped you, beat you to a pulp and left you for dead. If she wasn't sick before then my entire life has been a lie," Haechan interrupted.

"Mentally and health-wise. I think that visit was the last time I'm ever gonna see her again. I asked where she was going to and all they said was that she was 'gone'. Like someone get that guy a medal because I would've never have guessed."

The boys shared a worried glance, which Chaehyun caught onto.

"Chae...when you say...she's sick. How sick are we talking?" Asked Taeyong carefully.

Chaehyun shrugged his shoulders. "She didn't say but she kissed my forehead, told me she loved me and my siblings and then said goodbye. Why? Are you guys killing off my mum in your heads because if so then you better stop. She's not dying."

Everyone heard the slight voice crack to his tone as he finished the sentence. He knew deep down what was happening to her, but he didn't want to believe it. He didn't want to believe that those words she said to him were possibly her last ones he'd ever hear her say. Because no matter what she'd done, she was still his mother.

"Anyway. Let's uh. I need to see my sister."

With that, he stood up and walked out the door. Everyone looked at each other in silence, what they didn't know was that the second he closed that door, Chaehyun slid down the wall and began crying for the second time in two days.

He needed to see his sister. He needed to talk some sense into her. He'd lost his parents long ago, he couldn't now lose his sister too. Everyone has emotions and Chaehyun had been holding his in for too long.

He just needed to be happy. Chaehyun was finally admitting to himself that he wasn't okay. That he wasn't as strong as he made himself out to be.

Chaehyun was starting to accept that he was human. He was accepting his emotions and though he didn't seem to think it was a good thing now, deep down he knew that it would help him recover from his heartache. He needed help.

But that was a situation for another time. He needed to confront his little sister, even if it meant breaking her heart to do so.
