I started writing this on my laptop then continued on my phone so it gradually gets worse as it goes on...good luck.

Also....should I do a face reveal? 🤔 I mean I probably won't but I might...What do you think? I don't really know what the point would be...for fun I guess? Lmao 😂

"When did you realize?"

Sat on top of the roof of his grandparent's roof, Chaehyun and Lucas were alone, a single pack of cigarettes placed with a pack of watermelon chewing gum resting between them. It was taking everything inside Lucas to not flick the cigarettes off of the roof. Chaehyun hadn't started up again, but it was tempting. Very, very, very tempting.

"When did I realize what?" Chaehyun glanced at Lucas who was staring at the passing cars in the distance.

"When did you realize that being an idol was what you wanted to spend the rest of your life doing?"

That was a question that Chaehyun had never been asked before. People usually only cared about the stuff in the past, nobody ever wanted to hear about his journey on becoming who he is today music wise. His eyes dropped to the two completely packs below and he bit his lip, the want becoming stronger. His fingers itched to grab the wrong one, but the voice in the back of his head prompted him to stay still.

"When i realized that music was the only thing that made me happy at one point in my life."

The words hung loosely in the air and as small as they were, they were like a weight being lifted off of Chaehyun's chest. He'd never fully shared the reason behind his passion for music simply because nobody had ever asked.

Chaehyun snatched the packet of watermelon chewing gum and unwrapped one before popping it into his mouth allowing the flavour to burst in his mouth, distracting him from his need to have a cigarette. His eyes lingered on the packet for a few seconds before he lifted it up and tossed it off the roof. He didn't see it, but a proud smile stretched across Lucas' face.

A breath of relief escaped the two boys as they turned to look at each other and smiled.

"You're really talented, you know that Chae? People don't give you enough credit for just how talented you are and how much of an amazing member you are. I honestly can't imagine this group without there being our controversial, no filter bad ass."

Chaehyun rolled his eyes as a goofy smile spread across his face. He pushed Lucas' shoulder and pretended to act all shy.

"Oh stop! You're among me blush!"

The two erupted into giggles and Lucas fell back against the roof. He didn't even bother getting up prompting Chaehyun to follow his movements. The two laid with their backs against the roof, staring up at the sky which was a blue fading into purple colour which leaked into a nice orange.

"Chaehyun...are you happy?"

Chaehyun kept his eyes on the sky, even when he felt Lucas turn to look at him. He put on a small smile and shook his head.

"No." Lucas frowned, but said nothing. After everything, he wasn't exactly surprised. "But I'm happier."

And that was enough.

Chaehyun wasn't happy, he was still filled to the brim with pain and heartbreak, but he was happier with his new life. He was content. And he knew that someday, everything would be absolutely fine. Pain heals with time. And Chaehyun looked forward to the day that he could truly say that he was happy.

At the end of the day, people can say that having the fame, the money, the family and the friends gives you no reason to be unhappy, but the problem sits mentally with Chaehyun. Whether he's famous or not, having a bunch of people knowing his name wasn't enough to fill the empty void – it takes time. And a lot of it.

But for now, he was content with his life. He felt no need to rush anything and he was doing just fine getting through life with his friends, family and fans beside him.
