I am going to be taking things a little easy since I've been in a bad state lately but I had this idea that I've been slowly putting together for a few days.

WARNINGS; mentions of abuse, alcohol abuse and drugs. Strong Language.

This is gonna be a long one. Please skip this one if any of the warnings above cause any form of distress 💜

"What is he doing here?"

Taeyong and Yeri stood either side of Chaehyun, keeping him from launching himself at him. Yeri's hands fell on his bicep, she knew as long as she was anywhere close to him, holding on he wouldn't even risk doing anything that could cause her harm. Taeyong held his shoulder just for extra support which he thanked to god that he.

A clear gloss coated over Chaehyun's eyes which mirrored his. He stood tall, but his face lips were quivering. His grandparents stood a little behind him, hands folded folded over each other as they remained silent. Chaehyun's grandmother looked at him with pleading eyes and he didn't have it in him to go against her wishes just yet.

"It's been a while." He seemed surprised by his sons words, almost as if he was expecting something much harsher believe me, the vulgar language was on the top of his tongue, but out of respect for his girlfriend and his family - Yes Taeyong included - he was on his best behaviour.

He nodded, his face was paler than Chaehyun remembered and slimmer – he didn't look healthy and as much as Chaehyun hated himself for it, he felt something tug at his heart; guilt.

He had nothing to feel guilty for, but he couldn't help it. It was just there eating away at him as he took in his appearance. Wetting my lips, Chaehyun glanced at his grandparents who immediately took that as their cue to leave, however, his grandmother stepped towards him and placed her hand on his cheek. Chaehyun leaned into her touch.

"We raised you to be respectful, we raised you to be kind and forgiving. You don't have to forgive him and you have every right to be angry but remember the boy who we raised." She pressed a kiss to his cheek and Chaehyun smiled lovingly in return with a nod.

As they left the room, Yeri's grip on his arm tightened as he took a seat. Taeyong kept his arm on his shoulder and Chaehyun slid his arm around Yeri's waist, pulling her into his slightly before turning back to him.

"Did you know?" Chaehyun asked him. He knew what his son meant immediately, but Chaehyun continued. "You weren't there to save me from her. Was you helping her?"

He shook his head.

"I am a lot of things and a bad Father is certainly one of them but do you really think I am the type of Father to sit and watch my son get tortured by his own Mother?" I stayed silent. "People seem to think that I had something to do with it and I didn't. I was in jail—"

"Isn't that a surprise," Chaehyun mumbled.

"I was in jail because of your batshit crazy mother, Lachlan. She's the reason you got taken off of us, the reason you changed your name. The reason you changed everything! Her!"

He rolled his eyes. "Yeah, but you can't just blame her! Because whilst she was screaming and hauling abuse left, right and centre. You, sat on your ass watching her attack me whilst you drank your vodka and took a hit of the occasional blunt! Whilst I protected your baby daughter and your son! Me! I took all the hits for them whilst you sat and watched!"

By this point the tears were flowing freely down his cheeks, with Yeri holding on tight to him and Taeyong rubbing his arm up and down, something that he knew calmed him. Taeyong's movements stopped when a sob broke out through the younger boy who then reached out and grabbed his hand for support.

"Do you know how much it hurt Dad?! To have to sit and let the woman that's supposed to love and protect me be the one to haul abuse at me, slap me, punch me. I took every hit to protect my siblings! Because I've been more of a fucking parent to them than you have! I grew up feeding them, picking Hanra up from school, helping her with her manners, dressing her, teaching her to be polite! I was the one to teach Daeyoon how to ride his goddamn fucking bike! I was the one to give the approval for his first girlfriend! Me! Still at the young age of what? 7 to 14? I was still a kid! I had no childhood because of you and her! And then she decided that she wasn't finished and wanted to harm me some more!"

Chaehyun's father lowered his head to the ground as his son sobbed into the arms of his Hyung whilst his girlfriend squeezed his hand soothingly.

"Do you know how embarrassed I was to show up for school late because my parents couldn't be bothered to get out of bed to provide for their children?" His sons were getting weaker as the front door opened to reveal Daeyoon and Hanra, both looking equally as shocked to see the man sitting there.

Fear overtook Hanra. She hadn't contacted him since Chaehyun's disappearance and the messages were much more threatening as they came to an end. Daeyoon on the other hand, dropped in front of his sobbing older brother and took him into his arms, reaching out for Hanra's hand, he pulled her close and as far away from their Dad as they could.

Taeyong watched in silence. He knew all about Chaehyun's past but seeing him now sobbing in the arms of the boy he had to practically help raised sparked anger and all he wanted to do was jump up and land a punch to Chaehyun's fathers jaw.

"You have some nerve showing up here," Daeyoon spoke through his gritted teeth. "You caused us enough pain, don't you think? Look at him, look at what you and your sick wife have done."

"Daeyoon I wasn't a good Father and I'll admit that but I am in no way shape or form as bad as your Mother. I want to start fresh, I want to be a Dad-"

"It's a bit too fucking late for that. You don't get it do you? Before Gran and Granddad took over, the only person I can remember ever raising me was Chaehyun! A child and he still made a better parent than you ever would because he had one thing that you lacked; he loves us." Daeyoon gently pushed Hanra towards Yeri who held her arms out and wrapped them around the younger girl as Daeyoon stood up.

"Daeyoon—" his grandmother made his way into the room, but she was immediately pulled back into the arms of her husband who stood by and allowed his grandchildren to take out their anger; his son deserved it.

"So what is it Huh? What do you need? Money? To put Chaehyun through more pain because he had the worst of it? What do you wanna see him break?"

Ashamed, his Father looked down. "Your Mother has been caught and I came here hoping that Chaehyun would somehow—"

"Don't ask."

"Dad please—"

"That woman deserves to rot in jail for the pain she has put on my grandchildren. My grandson—that boy is the strongest lad I know. They all are for dealing with what they have but Chaehyun deserves justice. She's going to jail so don't even bother to ask." Venom dripped from Grandpa's words.

"She won't survive!"

"Well, she should've thought about that before she did what she did. Now get out of my house and stay far away from my family, my grandkids and their friends."

Chaehyun's sobs calmed and he was tucked up in the arms of Taeyong, eyes squeezed shut as everything started to catch up to him. From his childhood all the way to his kidnapping.

His parents had broken him but he was strong and he knew he would come out on top. He didn't care how long it would take, he was going to survive this.

I cried whilst writing this, like no joke it's almost 5 AM, I'm sick and I am crying for some reason.

I know this chapter was a little dark but Chaehyun's past has finally been revealed.

I know I have been a little inactive, as I said up top I am taking this easy as of now since I have been struggling lately and yeah, I just felt like writing some angst.
