"Why would you comment that?"

Sitting on the soft blue sheets, Chaehyun was hunched over hands locked and pressed against his forehead with his elbows on his knees. The girl stared at him, guilt and regret circling around her icy blue eyes as she fiddled with her hands, fighting back the urge to cry.

"I don't know, I guess I just lost it. I hate how they are constantly hounding you for everything you do! I just wanted to stand up for you," huffed the girl, biting her lip as she watched his every move. "I just- I didn't want to be a secret anymore, Chaehyun!"

A secret. She wasn't a secret. Chaehyun didn't even know what she was to him at this point. Girlfriend? Fling? Best friend? He had no idea what to even call her.
She wanted something more, that was no secret but was that what Chaehyun wanted? Was he ready for that?

Letting out a frustrated groan, Chaehyun's hands fell against his head. "You could've talked to me! Do you have any idea how much trouble I'm in? How much shit it's got me in with my members? With management? I'm an idol, Taelyn! Everything I do has to be ran by them! I'm not even sure what this is!" He exploded, throwing his hands up in the air.

Taelyn stepped back. She had never seen him look so angry. The two had been a thing for four months after meeting at Daeyoon's eighteenth birthday party and immediately clicked.

"We're together aren't we?" She tried to keep her voice steady, but Chaehyun noticed the small crack at the end and he had never felt so guilty.

He wasn't meant for relationships. He never had been meant for relationships. He always ended up hurting them. He hurt Dahyun, he hurt his first girlfriend and now he had hurt Taelyn. He never knew how to handle relationships. They obviously required love and that's something Chaehyun had trouble with.

The only people he knew how to love were his family. His siblings, grandparents and his brothers, Nct. Relationships weren't his thing. Either he got hurt or they did...they never worked out in his favour.

He sighed and shook his head slowly.

"No, I'm sorry Taelyn...I don't think we can be together."
