Sabay sabay silang lumabas sa dugout. Tinabihan naman ni Bea si Deanna.
"You okay Deanns?" Tanong ni Bea.
"Yes ate Bei!" Sagot ni Deanna.
"Catch-up tayo later?" Bea said with a smile.
Deanna just nodded.
Naghuddle agad sila sa gitna ng court where nakatayo na ang coach nila at si Denise.
"Hello guys!" Bati ni Den ng complete na sila.
The ladies greeted back naman.
"So no long introductions since, I've heard na you guys bonded na last night. We can use the time for practice and a game mamaya." Sabi ng coach nila.
Tumango naman mostly sa mga players. Habang pumunta naman sa gitna si Denise.
"Guys, upo muna kayo. Let's talk about the basics of being a libero." Sabi ni Den at sumunod naman ang mga players.
"Libero... I think everyone knows naman the basic. It is a special role with a huge responsibility. Before we can perform any play or sets, first ball and pinaka importante. It is expected that the libero will be able to provide a good pass to the setter for good ball distribution. Nowadays, Liberos are also the second setters." Panimula ni Denise.
Proud naman nakangiti si Aly habang tinapik ito ni Amy.
"I am glad that our libero this year was once a setter. With what I heard, she is courageous. So Deanna, keep it up! Pero we should not just let Deanna do this task alone. Everyone should be able to receive and dig well in cases when the libero is not around or for crucial moments. So today, I am expecting that everyone will focus on receiving and digging." Denise continued.
Napangiti naman si Deanna, habang tinapik sya ni Ponggay.
"A good libero should be consistent. Mainly focuses on receiving the ball. She should be quick to go anywhere within the court and develop a good passing and digging ability." Den said.
Dinemonstrate naman ni Den ang basic position ng libero and highlighted tips on how to do it with ease.
"Make sure to focus on the ball. Always read and anticipate kung saan maglaland ang ball. Move around and make sure you can see clearly the attacker and the position of your blockers." Patapos ni Den.
"Thank you Den." Sabi naman ng coach nila.
"Now, let's do some drills!" Sigaw ng coach nila.
Everyone was focused naman while Den and Deanna nagbuddy up for most of the time.
After ng ilang oras na drills, pinagbreak sila.
"Thanks ate Den." sabi ni Deanna.
"Wala yun. Alam mo Deanns, I believe you will do great talaga. Drills pa lang yan. Excited na ako sa game mamaya." Sagot ni Den.
"But I will never be as good as you are." Sabi ni Deanna.
"Hey Deanns! Don't say that! I believe in you. Actually, you just really need to embrace yung role na ito. And everything will fall into their right place. I know, it must be hard kasi I know setter ka talaga." Den said.
Napangiti naman si Deanna.
"You know what Deanns, I was also converted to a libero nung first year ko. I was a spiker before. Imagine yung layo nun sa role na libero. When you are a libero no chance of you to spike or help your team with points. But I really love the sport and I am grateful that I am still part of the team so inembrace ko yung role ko and made sure na I will do my best to be perfect for the role. Tingnan mo naman yung result diba? You can do it as long as you put your heart to it." Nakangiting kwento ni Den.
