Bodyguard Hoseok

Today was just like all the others. Boring. Nothing interesting ever happened here. It wasn't that I wanted something to happen to the Queen or the Prince. I was just tired of not doing anything. When the King was alive, it was like we had to always act as if we would die.

I sighed and continued with my assignments. Soon it was my lunch break, maybe I could do something during this time. I took my usual seat at the guards' table and began to eat my lunch. I wasn't listening very much about what they were talking about, but then they said something interesting.

"Did you really hear it for yourself?" Asked one guard.

The guard that was telling the story shook his head. "Yes! I swear. It was super loud!"

"What was?" I asked.

They all looked at me like I was crazy.

"So, you mean you haven't heard?" Asked another.

"Apparently not."

They looked back at the first guard waiting for him to spill the tea.

"Last night, as I was roaming the halls, I heard a loud cry. In an instant, I knew that it was a Kumiho. I ran as fast as I could and never looked back."

"A Kumiho?" I asked, my curiosity getting the best of me.

"You've never heard about a Kumiho?" He asked in surprise.

"No... Is it something I should know about?"

"If you want to stay alive!" He exclaimed. " A Kumiho is a creature that can turn into almost anything. It is usually seen as a beautiful woman so that it can seduce men. When it does, it eats their heart or liver. Some people see it as a nine-tailed fox."

"My father once said that he saw one in a graveyard." Added another guard.

"Woah... So, you think there is one here?" I ask them.

"Yep. Everyone should be careful." He warned.

I sat back in my chair and thought about this. If there really is a Kumiho here, then how do we get rid of it? I should warn Jimin about this. Wait... Where was Jimin?!?

I realized that I hadn't seen him all day. He would usually pop in to say 'Hi' to me before I went on patrol. When I woke up this morning, he also wasn't there.

Oh no, what if the Kumiho got him?!?!

I pushed the terrible thought to the back of my mind. No, Jimin wasn't that easy to be seduced. I don't think so...

I got up from my chair and left the others. I ran as fast as I could to our secret spot. When I got there the door was unlocked. I hope Jimin is in here.

I was at peace when I saw Jimin sitting on the bench staring into space. I immediately walked over to him and sat down. I pulled him into a bearhug and squeezed him tightly.

"Oh Jimin! I'm so glad that you're safe! I was so worried that the Kumiho had eaten your heart!"

"H-Ho-Hoseok! W-What are you... What are you talking about!?" He asked.

I let go of him and brushed a few stray strands of hair back from his face.

"The other guards had told me that there was a Kumiho on site. Since I didn't see you all day, I was worried that you had gotten eaten." I explained to him.

"You really believe in that stuff?" He laughed.

"Um, Yeah. Why would the other guards lie to me?"
