One Week Later
Secretary Jin
"You better not mess this up. If you do, I'll have your head on my car hood."
I handed Namjoon my notes for the meeting. Today was the day that Prince Yoongi was going to talk about the girl that he was seen with and other things.
"Hyung, I think you're a little too stressed about this," Namjoon said, putting a hand on my shoulder.
"I'm just worried about the Prince's reputation." I sighed. "We need the people to think that he's ready to sit on the throne."
"So you don't think he's ready?" He asked.
"Of course I don't think he's ready. Did you see that way he handled the situation with the girl? His plan was terrible in every way possible."
"Take it easy on him. He's probably having a hard time about becoming King without having training. You know how devastated he was when he found out that his father died."
I rubbed my temples and took a deep breath.
"You're right. I'm just scared that he won't take his job seriously."
Namjoon gave me a small smile and patted my back.
"He'll be fine. I know that deep down in your heart, you care for him like a son."
"Shut up... Doesn't the meeting start soon?" I mumbled.
Namjoon checked his watched and then his schedule.
"You're right. I should get going now, bye!"
I waved goodbye and turned on the TV. It was about to live in three minutes. I sat back and got comfortable. They better not screw this up...
Prince Yoongi's P.O.V.
"Are you ready, Sir?" Asked Namjoon.
"As ready as I'll ever be," I answered truthfully.
I stepped out into the room and flashes went off everywhere. I still couldn't get over their blinding light. I walked up to the podium and cleared my throat.
"Hello. I am Prince Yoongi and today I'll be answering some of your questions. Shall we begin?"
Hands shot up from everywhere. I chose the person in front of me.
"Can you explain to us why you wanted to choose a wife when you were already with someone?" Asked the reporter.
"Bold of you to assume that we were together. Next question."
"Could you explain to us what happened with the screening?"
"It went ok. I just need some time to think about my final decision. Next question."
This time I picked someone from the back.
"It seems that hours later the woman was nowhere to be found. What happened to her?"
"I don't know. I left as soon as the crowd died down." I lied.
"If you and the mysterious woman weren't dating, then what is your relationship with her?" Asked the man.
"We are actually-"
"engaged."
Everyone turned their heads toward the voice. In the back, the girl was standing there with my mother by her side. They all stood up and bowed for my mother. I was still in shock. I looked at Namjoon and he was just as surprised. He began to flip through his notes and then mumbled something about how he didn't have notes for this. My mother and the girl walked up to the podium and the girl bowed.
