Y/N' P.O.V

It was almost time for your lessons to be over. You glanced at the clock in the corner of the room and sighed. It seemed as if time was going slower than usual. Who knew that there was so much more to do than just learning how to be graceful.

As soon as you heard the clock strike 6:00, you got up and stretched. Lessons were finally over and it was your free time. Thankfully, Mr. Kim wasn't a complete stick in the mud and he gave you a decent amount of time to study and relax.

You exited the room and strolled down the hall. Of course, Jungkook was behind you but he was oddly silent today. Nevertheless, you continued down the hall not letting him ruin your good mood.

As you were walking, you passed a window and decided to stop and enjoy the view. I'm far from home and in a completely different world... It feels like I'm locked in a cage but the sky brings me comfort.

Movement from the lower level caught your eye. There was a carriage pulling up to the front entrance of the palace. Suitcases were piled on the top and some on the sides.

"Agent JK... Does the Queen or Prince have a guest arriving today?"

He looked down at the carriage and thought.

"I'm not sure. Although, no one really tells me what's going on when it comes to visitors so I wouldn't know."

You nodded and looked back at the carriage. Curiosity was going to end up killing you if you didn't find out who was here. So in a hurry, you dragged Jungkook to the main floor and went to see who was here.

You didn't want to disturb the guest's arrival, so you hid behind the corner to watch. Mr. Kim was standing in front of the doors, tablet in his hand. He was smoothing down his shirt.

"Miss Lee, it's rude to not greet your guest. Especially when they've traveled such a long way to see you." He said without turning around.

Your cheeks flared pink and eyebrows went up. Like a child coming out from behind their mother's skirt, you came out from behind the wall. On the other hand, Agent JK stayed put. You walked up to Mr. Kim and awkwardly stood beside him.

"Miss Lee, I present to you... Your new lady-in-waiting."

The doors swung open and coming up the steps was your one and only best friend. You smiled like an idiot as you locked eyes with her. Forgetting everything around you, you rushed into her arms and gave her the most sincere hug.

"I knew you missed me but I never thought this much." She laughed.

You unwrapped yourself from her arms and took her by the shoulders. "I know it's only been a couple of days since I last saw you but it's felt like an eternity."

From the background, you heard Mr. Kim chuckle at your remark. You let go of Hyojin and turned to Mr. Kim.

"You actually hired her... Thank you."

He smiled and nodded."If there's one thing you should know about me, Miss Lee... It's that I never go back on my word."

You looked back to Hyojin and took her by the wrist. "Let's go up to my room. We have so much to talk about."

"Wait, what about my bags? Do I leave them here or...?"

Mr. Kim picked up her suitcase from the ground. "Don't worry about that. The servants will take all your belongings to your room. When you are ready, the other ladies will show you to your room."

Her eyes widened in surprise. "There are other ladies? Wow Y/N, you sure need a lot of help."

You shoved her playfully and grabbed her by the wrist. "Come on, we don't have all day! I want to show you around and talk."

"Okay then. Let's get moving."

When you were done showing her the palace grounds, you went up to your room. Hours ago this very same hallway felt dark and gloomy to you but now it's brightened up thanks to Hyojin.

"This is where my room is."

You opened the doors and showed her in. Her eyes seemed to be darting everywhere, trying to take everything in.

"You sleep here?! This is so much better than your old room back at your house. I mean, no offense but it's shabby compared to this."

You rolled your eyes and flopped onto the bed. As she was looking around, your mind though about your old room back at home. It might have been shabby but it's the only place that will ever feel like home.

Some of your fondest memories were made in that room. It's the place where you told Hyojin that you didn't want to be a farmer. As a child, you had been trained to take on the family farm but now that's certainly changed. You never thought you'd quit the farming life to be a Queen. You thought you'd be something more... Realistic.

"Y/N you must really be living a dream. You have everything you need and more here. You even got a bathtub that's got jets!" She said poking her head out from behind the wall.

You rolled into your stomach and set your head in your hands. Her childlike wonder was starting to show. You couldn't blame her though. Her family wasn't rich but they weren't poor. They just had the money for everything necessary.

Hyojin was now done exploring and flopped onto the bed with you. She kicked off her shoes and rolled to get closer to you. Once she was comfortable she rested her head on your shoulder and sighed with content.

"You know, I never thought I would be lucky enough to see what the palace looked like... And to think, I get to live here and entertain you for my job. How much better could our lives get?"
