(A/N: Ashford Castle is the Royal Palace)

Prince Yoongi's PO.V.

"I refuse to do that mother," I say with a huff.

"How dare you speak that way to me! That is no way a royal prince or future king should be acting!" She says horrified.

"I do not wish to become the king until I feel fit for the throne."

"I think you are perfect for the throne. It cannot be empty for much longer." She protests.

"Then find someone else to sit upon it." I shrug.

Another horrified look overtakes her face and she is only mere seconds away from slapping me. I don't care though. Why? Because this isn't the first time we've had this conversation. It's starting to get tiresome and making me angry.

"We need to tell the people of the kingdom something about a king soon. The Kingdom Harvest is taking place in two days and we still haven't released a statement about you becoming king since your father died!" She cried.

"Mother! I do not wish to speak about this any longer." I turn and leave the room.

My faithful bodyguard, Park Jimin, was waiting for me by the door. Not only was he my bodyguard but he was my closest friend.

"My Prince, how was the conversation with her majesty?" He asked while escorting me back to my quarters.

"I prefer not to talk about it and what have I told you about calling me 'My Prince'?"

"Sorry about that Yoongi... It's just that I'm so used to having to call you that." He scratched the back of his neck nervously. "Plus, the Queen would have my neck if she ever caught me calling you by your name."

"My mother has always been a stickler about rules." I chuckled.

When we reached my room Jimin stopped at the door and let me in. He never came into my room unless I called him or let him in. He took his usual place in front of my door. Once the door was closed I could unwind. Being the crown prince wasn't the easiest thing in the world. It's much harder than I thought it would be. If it wasn't for Jimin, I think I would have gone insane. Just being around him makes me feel calmer. He is my shoulder to rest my head on and when he needs a shoulder, I'll do the same. A sudden knock at the door interrupted my thoughts.

"Come in!"

Jimin entered the room with a folder in his hand and laid it at my desk.

"The Queen wants you to look over these documents and sign off on the ones you think are the best," Jimin stated.

"What are they for?"

"Future laws and preparations for the Kingdom Harvest."

"Why didn't someone come up with a better name than 'Kingdom Harvest'?" I asked.

"I'm not for sure but I think the person who made it was really tired and their last brain cell was on the verge of dying." He answered casually.

"What the hell..."

"Just thinking out loud. Anyways, the Queen wants them back as soon as possible."

"Ok then, you are dismissed."

With a bow, Jimin left the room. A sigh escapes my mouth and I lean back in my chair.

After I was done reviewing the new laws, it was time for me to go over the list of farmers for the Kingdom Harvest. This was my least favorite thing to do. The tasked seemed simple at first but then I realized that making sure all the farmers met the quota for the Harvest was longer and harder than I thought it was going to be.

"Namjoon, are there any new reports about the list? Mother sent me a list last week but I'm pretty sure it has been updated."

"You are correct, Sir. Here is the new list with every single farmer in the Kingdom."

I took the list from him and looked it over. This year there were more farmers than last time.

"Why is there an increase of farmers?" I asked Namjoon.

"The people in the capital have been crazy about this new health trend that was released two weeks ago. It claims the air in the city is 'killing' people's brains." He said while looking at his tablet.

He handed me the device and let me look at the report. After I was done reading it, I decided to forget it and get back to my job.

"I forgot to mention that you need to send someone to collect the tax on Kang Chin-Hwa's farm."

"Have they still not paid the loan back?" I questioned.

"No, Sir. This should be the last notice they get, if they don't pay then we take the land."

"I see... I'll send someone when I finish up here."

He nods and leaves the room. As overseer of the kingdom Namjoon is usually busy. He does do his best to help me when he has time. After I was done I called for a knight and sent him down to the farmer's house. I was making my way back to my room when I saw Jimin walking out of my mother's room. Not wanting to get caught, I hid behind a wall and watched him leave. When he was gone I came out of hiding and went to my room. Upon arrival, Jimin was standing there per usual. He opened the door for me to let me in. Without a warning, I pulled him in the room and closed the door.

"What did my mother tell you?" I asked.

"Oh... I-it was nothing important. No need to worry about it." He replied.

"Tell me," I demanded.

He sighed in defeat. " The Queen asked me to persuade you to take the throne or else she would harm my family."

Outraged I stormed out of the room and into the hallway. Jimin frantically followed behind me and tried to stop me.

"Yoongi, calm down! It's fine, I can find some way to protect them!" He said while grabbing me by the arm.

"No, Jimin you can't! May I remind you that she is the Queen! No matter how good you hide them, she will find them!" I yelled back.

He was quiet and let go of my arm. I was right and he knew it. Jimin didn't like it when someone had to stand up for him but this time he knew there was nothing he could do. I continued down the hall and went straight to my mother's room. I burst through the doors and looked for my mother. A frightened maid understood what I wanted and pointed towards her office door. When I entered she was sitting at her desk, scanning documents.

"How could you?!" I yelled.

"I don't know what you're talking about. Please use full sentences." She said calmly.

She didn't even look up at me. Not caring if I was here or not, she continued to read her papers.

"You know what you did! How could you threaten his family? Why do you want me to sit on the throne so badly?! Is there something that would benefit you? Is that what this is about? Using your own son for power! You are not allowed to touch anyone who serves me." I raged.

This had caught her attention and now she was glaring at me.

"How dare you accuse me of using you. I just want what is best for the kingdom and everyone in it. Jimin might be your closest friend, but to me, he is just another bodyguard. He will be nothing more but could be so less."

"You wicked witch."

And with that, I left. On the way back to my room I had cooled down a bit. I was still angry with my mother but I would take care of that later. I had found Jimin where I had left him, except now he was leaning against the wall. I took him by the wrist and led him inside my room. I opened the doors to my balcony and looked up at the afternoon sky. Jimin was silent at first but then he sighed.

"Thank you, Hyung."

"No need for thanks. If I were in your position I'm sure you would do the same for me."

I know I know I know... I wasn't going to update this until I was done with One More Day, but I can't help it! I am very proud of my work and I can't keep it unpublished for any longer. This is the last time though! At least until One More Day is finished.
