"Miss Collins, you are aware that you signed the contract, right?"
I nod my head, knowing full well what it means.
"I am fully aware of the consequences, Mr Stone. But I am willing to accept them."
"You will be paying us a whole lot of money in exchange of breaching the contract." Mr Stone's voice became colder.
"And I am willing to pay for all the expenses."
This time, the man I call my boss massaged his temples and sighed.
"Miss Collins, what is this about? You were supposed to work here for a year and you are willing to break the agreement we had?"
"The agreement was to be a model for the time being, Mr Stone. I made your business agreement successful as per our discussion and I did. I can't keep working as a celebrity because I can't, but because I don't want to." I replied, my eyes staring hard on my employer.
"No."
I was stunned, what?
"Mr Stone--"
"I said 'no', Miss Collins. And I won't say it again."
"Give the woman what she wants, Travis." Mr Riot cuts in, making me realize that he was still in the room.
"And who are you to say that, Vindik? You have no say in this." Mr Stone argued while Mr Riot took a step in front of me.
"Oh, I do. Miss Collins is a friend of mine and I know her better than you. You said she applied as a secretary in the publishing company? Then you should have known that she didn't like this kind of job."
I narrowed my eyes on the back of Mr Riot's head.
Why is he defending me? There is no reason for him to.
"Why are you so sure?"
Before Mr Riot could answer, annoyed, I spoke.
"This isn't your concern, Mr Riot, and neither do you, Mr Stone. I am a woman of free will and I did say I could pay the fees that are required. So stop arguing and accept my resignation." I didn't remove my eyes from my employer.
He looked angry yet I am also as furious.
Seconds later, his eyes hardened and his jaw clenched.
"Fine. If you want to leave and are willing to pay, I will accept."
He was about to grab his phone when the door opened and his PD came in without hesitation.
"What is it, Walter?"
The man took a deep breath but his eyes didn't lose the sense of alarm.
"Kaitlyn Delly got arrested for dealing with drugs."
"What?" Mr Riot was frowning in confusion whilst Mr Stone looked taken aback.
"The police got her arrested and apparently, she killed her son."
The room was silent so the man continued.
"Her face was all over the news and over time she will be claimed guilty."
Mr Stone then placed his head between two fingers of his hand and tried to calm himself down.
"What do you suggest we do, Mr Hans?"
"I think we should fire her, Sir. Though seeing your schedule you need to find someone to replace her as early as possible."
"Damn. This happens the moment I am in need of her."
