Vindik Riot

That damn meeting has kept me fucking late. I am way past seven by a minute before I arrived at Ebony's building.
I stepped out of the vehicle and leaned against the side of the car to fix my coat when a voice reached my ears.
"You're late."
I turned to her direction, only to see her perfect tall figure standing beside the entrance. I didn't even notice that she was here before I arrived.
She walked down the stairs with grace and such elegance that I rarely see in anyone but for her it seemed like second nature.
She wore the dress I bought for her and she looks magnificent in it. It was an off shoulder type of dress but she used a black cloth that is draped over her shoulders to hide her pale skin.
I never realised how I despise the dark brown locks on her head that are supposedly her wig. She has long beautiful white hair and no one can appreciate it with them being hidden from view.
"And here I thought I should get ready when you're clearly the one who should do so."
Snapping away from my trance, I looked at my wrist watch and smirked.
"For two minutes, sugar. I think I made it here just in time." With this, she arched an eyebrow and stopped in her tracks.
"And I suppose you're telling me that eight o'clock and eight two are the same?"
I chuckled, walking up slowly towards her.
"All right, I'm late. You got me, Miss Collins. Why so serious?"
She shrugs.
"I am always like this so I don't see why you say otherwise."
I shake my head at her while laughing. She really is something. She doesn't see herself the way I see her, an independent woman who fights what she believes in.
When I paused a step before her, I reached my hand out to her.
"It wouldn't hurt to laugh once in a while, right?"
She had a frown on her face as she looked at my hand in hesitance.
"I... Don't recall any of my experiences with laughing, nothing that I can think of."
I'm supposed to say "why am I not surprised" as a sarcastic remark but the thought lingered in my head longer than I expected.
She has never laughed? How much does she hide under that impassive look she has on?
I felt sorry for her, yet I didn't let it show on my face, instead, I gave her a big smile.
"Then get ready, Miss Collins. Because I am going to be the first one who's going to make you laugh."
I might be mistaken, but I saw her eyes twinkling for less than a second and her face brightening up. She raised her right hand and placed it over mine.
I mentally sighed as I clasped our hands together. They fit perfectly.
"Let's go then, Miss Collins. Our journey awaits." I mocked before pulling her to walk down beside me.
"And before we get carried away, you look beautiful, Ebony." I didn't look at her reaction after that statement and just started driving.

"You didn't say anything about a boat." Was all Ebony said the moment we stepped out of the car.
"It's a yacht, sugar. We hold our reunions in different places every year but this time, Candice wanted a ride on the waters."
