"So? What do you want to know?"

It surprised me when Sheer came over to my place instead of just talking to me on the phone. It is already past seven in the evening and I just got back.

Williams probably opened the door for her and I can tell Kieffer didn't like the idea if she weren't here to see me. He stood just behind me with Williams at his side while Ashton had his position behind his master.

I placed my elbows on my knees and and watched her with a serious expression as she laid back against my cushion.

"Aera Maverick. Does it ring any bell?"

She stood silent in wonder, digging through her memories of any person with that name and then she suddenly sat up mirroring my expression.

"Aera Maverick. She went to train with us until age fourteen where she was sentenced to die after fighting against her trainer. The only thing that shocked me was that she actually didn't."

This time, surprisingly I wasn't in a state of shock.

"What do you mean?"

She sighs.

"She got away. Turns out, she was already trained to fight since young but in another Mafia. She went to the Leighton's organization as a spy and escaped with her organization's aid. She had connections with her friends since she got in and none of us ever noticed it."

"I did." I managed to blurt out.

"I heard her talking to herself in her quarters one day. I didn't realise just walking past her door would earn me knowledge, a heavy one at that."

Sheer pushed herself further towards me for more information, which I know she is hungry for.

"Then? What did you do to the rat?"

"I told Dimitri about it. He was talking about his business in some of his cartels are degrading and he was coming to the conclusion of a mole in his organization. He asked me if I found someone suspicious and after that, he caught her red-handed."

"Hmm... Interesting." She hums, looking deep in thought.

"Indeed." I added, ordering Williams to take out the tray of cheese topped muffins and tea to be served.

"So..." Sheer trailed off, nibbling on the spongy texture.

"What do you want to know about her?"

I stopped sipping my tea and looked straight into her eyes.

"Who and what organization she worked for at that time."

She didn't even blink an eye. Perhaps she was expecting it or it was something she wanted to know as well.

"Just so you know, it might take me days to gather all the information needed. And it would cost a lot of cash."

"Do it and I'll pay in full." I was desperate.

I have a feeling that I am digging into a deep amount of dirt and found a chest that is weighed with two possible outcomes; either I find a golden treasure, or I get nothing.

The chances are seventy percent to thirty. All in the favour of the latter but it is a risk. A gamble that if I did find the something, the process of this mission would be complete to seventy five percent of one hundred.

The benefits outweigh the risks, but the risks are not as easy as it seems.

"If I ever find something, which I will, make sure to be patient. Especially now that you're in a tight position, you are in no condition to be reckless." She sighs, gesturing towards my stomach.
