I heard everything. Every damn word that came out of my manipulators' mouths. They tricked me, again.

Saying that I'm angry as fuck but it would be an understatement. Looking at Rue's face, I knew right then that she figured I was listening since the beginning and I am thankful that she didn't put the conversation to a stop. She wanted me to know, she wanted me to hear the truth from Sheer's mouth.

Although I was taken aback at the way she was looking at me, I only stared back in awe. Her eyes look beautiful, it was silver... Just looking at it pulled me into hypnosis. I knew she was only wearing contact lenses, why was I even surprised that she looked so beautiful without effort?

I briefly shake my head to focus and stared straight at Sheer, but then I was back into wonder.

She was watching me like a predator would at her prey. Her eyes looked dangerous yet unique and interesting, like golden coins and her mouth in a Cheshire like smile. Right then and there, she knew I was listening from the beginning.

"Uh oh, she's glaring at me. Have I done something wrong, Rue?" She turned her head to look at Rue but she was using her mocking tone.

"On a scale of one to ten, I could say you're a hundred percent in the 10/10 wrong, Sheer." Rue replied but her voice lifted into amusement.

"Ah... A hundred percent? Perfect."

They're clearly playing with me. Just the thought of it made my blood boil.

"Enough games, you two. I've had enough of your lying schemes. I thought I was the one who had trust issues, I've been blaming myself for a whole day after the incidents yesterday. Turns out you have problems to deal with your own mentality."

"Whoa, whoa. Easy there, Cucciola." Sheer teased.

"Cucciola?" I asked, completely confused.

"Cucciola, little puppy. You know, Italian? You should go to Italy more often. Guys there are literally hot and their accents hit the core so bad."

I wanted to nod my head in understanding but I restrained myself and mentally gave my face a slap.

Shit, she's playing with me. And I'm a mouse that will easily get caught in her claws.

"Point is, I'm done with this cat and mouse chase bullshit. I know things ended the way they are right now because of you and I am grateful for it, but I want you guys to look me in the eyes and tell me the truth. From here on out."

Rue didn't budge from her stand and watched the scene unfold. She was too quiet and unreadable that I can't decipher what's in her head.

Sheer on the other hand kept on that sly smile on her lips and waved her hand in the air.

"By all means, ask away." She leaned her elbow on her desk and placed her chin on the palm of her hand as support as if to watch me perform.

"How much?" I grate out.

"I beg your pardon?"

"How much... Did my father pay?" I spoke through gritted teeth and raised my gaze at the two.

This time, Sheer didn't answer immediately and sighed.

"Ten thousand."

My eyes widened in shock, trying to keep up with the information.

Ten thousand? That was more than half of my parents' money to provide for my college fees.

The state I was in placed tears in my eyes and my hand clutching my chest. I was trying so hard not to fall on my knees and cry.
