Rue Scarce

After staying in the top deck and watched the stars in our area, I mumbled to Vindik that I'm starting to get hungry. He looked at me for a little while and then laughed, in which I told him to stop and bring me something to eat.

"You're a bit demanding tonight. Is it something I did?"

I raised an eyebrow.

"In my perspective, I was hoping to eat when we were in the buffet but you had to make a scene and left with me on tow. So making you get me the meal is the best decision there is."

He looked at me in amusement.

"Oh yeah. It's something I did, but I'm not complaining. You look hot when you're commanding me. Pregnancy hormones are sexy."

I gave him a hard look and he finally got the hint.

"All right, all right I'll get the food. Bossy much, sugar?" He pushed himself off the railing with the same smile on his face.

"Not quite."

He shook his head at me before walking away, telling me he'll be back in a few minutes.

I leaned both of my arms against the railings and watched the waters go as the ship passed by. The sounds of the waves and the fresh scent of the sea made it easy for me to relax.

Or so I thought when a high pitched sound flew towards me and I instinctively grabbed something in the air inches from my face.

A sharp blade is an inch away from the skin of my forehead when I caught the object and swiftly flipped it and threw it back towards the direction where it came from, only to hit the hard wood of the ship. That's going to leave a scar.

"Whoo. Scary, Rue. Really scary." The intruder wrapped a hand around the knife and pulled it out of the wood.

I frowned at the voice and sighed whilst shaking my head.

"Sheer, what brings you here?"

What in tarnation is she doing here?

She stepped out of the shadows with her signature smirk and the same belligerent look in her eyes.

Instead of her natural short black hair, she had a blonde wig on that reached past her shoulders. She wore a red and black tube dress that covers past her knees and black heeled boots that are strapped to her legs.

She giggles, a girly one at that.

"On a job. You know better than to ask me about it."

I rolled my eyes at her as she climbed against one of the railings and sat there, a little push and she'll fall into the waters and I'd be obliged to do so if she continues that attitude on me.

"Did you drink a lot?" I asked to make sure and she just shook her head at me.

"We both know we're not weak when drinking beverages." She stated.

She's right though. As assassins, we were trained to drink different types of alcohol. Trying some that have been drugged and still remain sober, just like drinking water.

"So that's your guy? The man that Conner keeps telling me last night?" I nearly slapped myself with those words.

I'm going to have to deal with that child when I get back.

"You didn't tell me he was that hot. Seriously, if he wasn't your target I'll ride him all day."

Somehow her words ticked me off but I brushed it off and turned to the side.
