Devil? What is father talking about? Is this man a literal devil? Or is he speaking figuratively?

I halted my thoughts when I saw a rather unsightly scene in front of me.

One of the guards had a slit down his throat and blood flowed like a river down his body. His sounds... I wish I couldn't hear them. His eyes were rolling back his head as if they were from a slot machine.

"Devil, you monster." My father glowered as the guards increased around us.

"Kill him. Now!" My father ordered and in a blink if an eye, the men rushed forward in attack.

But I didn't expect something could be even faster. I didn't even get to blink before I saw red. My siblings screamed and mother gasped as father stood still.

Multiple bodies fell simultaneously against the hard ground like heavy rain and my fear couldn't get any worse.

"I am here for work, Elijah. And by the looks of it, you already know what it is."

The man had a hood raised over his head but it didn't hide the terrifying look on his face as he glared at my father. He had a long bladed sword in his hold and the evident blood was undeniably fresh.

I felt confused when he pointed his weapon towards my father with words I couldn't understand.

"Elijah Harrison, you betrayed the code and you betrayed the family. You are therefore required to die, along with your family."

"That's madness! Kill this man!" Father's voice lost its calm tone and only panic was showing itself.

"All of you! Somebody kill him!"

And, following his orders, even the guard holding me placed me down on my feet and made his way towards the intruder.

I watched as all of them tried to take the nan down but it was futile. They all met their end the moment they took a step over the invisible line in his boundary.

I glanced at my family. Mother held my younger sister while my older sister had my younger brother in her arms. Unlike them, surprisingly I don't shake. I wasn't as scared as I thought I was and neither was I afraid to look at the dead bodies lying an inch away from my feet.

"There is one more that I am curious about, Elijah." The man, stood not far from me, was surrounded with the men he just killed in a span of seconds. But he had no blood, no stain whatsoever on him and his clothes.

My eyes widened when he suddenly appeared in front of my father and an arm's length away from me.

He had his blade pointed down but his hand was enough to lift my father off the ground.

"Where is she?" He demanded

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"The fact that you answered said otherwise. Where is she? Where is her child?"

"I told you... You are going to pay for everything you did to me." Father managed to say.

"You took everything from me!" I flinched when the man shouted but then my father smirks.

"I'm glad I did, Dev. Because of you, she left me."

The man squeezed his hands on Father's throat with a tight grip.
