"What on earth are you doing so early in the morning?"

You walk down the small steps that lead down from the main ballroom into the large lawn, watching him as he does little hops on the grass. This is the first time you'd woken up this early since your days living here, but last night, your first experience sleeping beside Namjoon, a snorer, had been the perfect alarm. You'd picked up your pillow, with the intention to move over to where Jimin and Yoongi were lying so peacefully, so quietly (yet so cutely) but you'd noticed the absence of one man.

The weird one.

"Taehyung," you call his attention once again but he doesn't quit. He's now in plank, holding tight onto his abs, though you doubt he has visible abs, as he looks up at you. "Good morning, Y/N," he says sweetly.

"W-what are you doing?" you say again, taken aback by his morning voice. Taehyung hadls a natural low voice, but at five am, when there only a tinge of lightish blue-green to light up the lawn, Taehyung's voice rumbles out like a demon. It's so husky too, his words are barely understandable.

"Training," he groans out, making something light up in your stomach by the way he says it. This man, in a sleeveless and loose sleeping pants is working out in the garden, with a deep rumbling voice and good looks has no idea the wonders he could do. However, knowing Taehyung's childish, boyish, cheeky personality you were able to contain yourself from feeling attracted to him.

"Do you always train in the morning?" you ask, wondering if he'd been doing so all this time in the oblivion of all the other boys.

"No, just recently," he pants, straining for the clenching of muscles.

"But...why?"

He ignores what you said, looking down at the dewed grass again, letting out a tensed groan again. "Y/N..." he whispers. "Can you count for me?"

You raise your eyebrows, a little taken aback by such a request but this man was unpredictable. The most unpredictable from all of them. "Uh, yeah...sure. Until?"

"Just keep counting," he grumbles and you nod, awkwardly starting to count slowly, feeling like a little child.

"One, two, three, four, five..."

"What's your favorite number?" Taehyung asks, suddenly, shifting himself to get a little more comfortable.

"Mine?" you say, in between counting, wrinkling your nose trying to decide.

"Yeah."

"I don't know," you say slowly. "Maybe, seven?' He looks satisfied by the answer but when he doesn't say anything you feel like you should add something more to it. "There's no reason it, I just like the way it sounds."

Taehyung smiles to himself, as if he's got his own little inside joke with it.

"What about you?" you ask, politely. You've realised now what he's trying to do. Distract himself from the pain of the workout. Pretty genius, you thought. The strangest ideas come from the most unexpected people.

"Ten," he replies immediately.

"Taehyung," trying to steer this random early morning conversation to a more practical topic. "Why are you training?"

"To fight," he says, drawing out the words with much effort. "Remember, you and Jiminie said you saw some aliens that day?"

"I wouldn't call them alie-"

"And the other weird stuff popping up. Just yesterday Hobi hyung said he came across some strange footprints and those pictures...I haven't seen any animals around except for the birds and occasional gecko."

"But, that could have a wildcat or something," you argue, pouting as you think. "None of us are really educated in science or animal-related things. We can't say those are the marks of an alien can we?"

"But we can't say they aren't, can we?" Taehyung counters.

You bite you lip, speechless. For the great imagination and absurd yet interesting theories Taehyung comes up with, you can't argue since neither of you have proof. You may have logic, but after That Day, logic doesn't apply to anything anymore.

"It looked like a stray dog," you say, trying to reason with the man, but allowing room for objection. 'With exceptionally sharp claws. Anyhow, are you training to fight it?"

"I don't-"

Taehyung suddenly collapses, arms giving way beneath him. He falls onto the ground, groaning for his aching muscles and flips onto his back immediately, catching his breath and sweating. "How much did I do?" he breathes.

"Around sixty seconds," you say uncertainly, for you'd sort of lost count however you couldn't tell him that. "Impressive."

Taehyung rolls into his back, breathing so deeply that you can't help but feel a little sparked. In the silence if the morning, with this sweaty, attractive panting man you were pretty vulnerable.

"Ah, I'm hungry," Taehyung sigh, glancing at you from the corner of his eye.

"What would you like to eat?" You ask, leaning over his face. You're sitting cross-legged at his head, your face blocking the sun from his eyes. He doesn't reply as he falls into your eyes for a second, as if searching for something in then before turning his face away. His long eyelashes blink quicker than before.

But then he snaps back to reality and a smile forms on his face. "I don't know, " He murmurs. "Can you cook? "

"Kind of, " You say. You were no Seokjin but in dire cases you could feed yourself by making something simple. However you weren't sure it would satisfy Taehyung. "Want me to try? "

"Jin hyung will kill you if you step foot in his kitchen."

"Why?"

"Because it's his kitchen." Taehyung explains, absent mindedmindedly his attention in a different frame of mind.

"But I help him often."

"Yeah but never without him, right?" He replies quickly.

Suddenly he reaches forward and pulls sharply on your elbow, causing you to fall on your stomach right beside his face. The damp prickly grass hits the side of your face and you groan, feeling the cold take over you body.

"You're better off training with me, here."

"Pff," you grumble. "I can't even do half a minute."

Taehyung chuckles, finding your comment amusing, his breath clouding yours. Once again, states back up at you with thats soulful look like he wants something from you. That intense stare gives you more goosebumps than the cold.

"Fighting! " He says softly, lips turned into a great big boxy smile that contains all the support you need. You can't help but smile at how adorable he looks like that, eyes creased until they are almost shut.

"Yah! Kim Taehyung! Working out without me?! "

His yell comes loud and clear on the wind followed by his eager footsteps, almost hopping across the lawn.

"Jeon Jungkook, " Taehyung rolls his eyes. "Go away."

You start to get up, stretching a little as your mind starts to the think over your conversation with Taehyung. But maybe he was right. Maybe we had to be ready. Weird things were happening. A fire? Big bugs? Abnormal felines? What was next? And what was happening to this place. You needed answers and no one seemed to have sensible theories yet.

However, maybe there was one person you could go to.
