"Hyung, can you help me?"

Yoongi squats down next to Jungkook, pouting slightly out of habit when being concentrated. He helps Jungkook to spark the fire as Jungkook covers the dry wood with his hands to maintain a warm atmosphere. Meanwhile you stay close to Hoseok, letting him lean almost his entire weight on you as he lies weakly against the tree stump.

"I feel you," you whisper to him, looking at the other two work. "I was in the exact same position when I first wound up here. These guys are monsters for surviving something like that. I mean, I know they can swim and Yoongi....alright I can assume that since he was in the navy but Jungkook? He's only twenty one, that's pretty impressive."

"Starting to reciprocate his feelings?" Hoseok smirks weakly against you. You refrain from hitting him playfully and shake your head instead. "Nope. Not even a little."

"Poor kid," Hoseok murmurs softly against your shoulder. "I mean, it's okay if you don't but...don't hurt him Y/N. He's crazy about you. And he's our group's maknae after all, his heart is still young."

You turn to him, angling your head a little uncomfortably as he directly against you. "How can you still care for him when you almost died?"

He smiles a little, instantly adding brightness into this dull situation. You wouldn't admit it, but you kept talking to him hoping he would stay conscious like that. The way he'd been so still, so frozen before had hit you hard. You wanted to him breathe, to talk, to move, do anything...because you couldn't bear or even think about letting him fall down again like that. It may be stupid but you were going to do anything you could to say alive.

"He's still a kid no matter what," Hoseok's eyes twinkle giving you more hope. He knew what you were doing and was assuring you that he wouldn't die twice. If he was given a second chance at life he would use it to the maximum.

"Sometimes I think that," you agree, sighing. "And then sometimes I don't. It's just...I don't know. It's not like I want to hurt him or give out the wrong impressions on purpose... But ever since he so bluntly confessed I can't help but look at him in a different way."

"He's still the same Jungkook to me. But now, everytime we come close or end up alone I feel like things between us hold a tighter tension. It means something else now. We're not in a relationship... But we're not exactly friends either."

"Aish," Hoseok drops his head right onto your shoulder, as if entirely given up on you. He glances at you through the side, sighing with you. "So what are you going to do?"

"What would you do if you were me?" You ask him curiously. It doesn't take him long to reply as he smiles at you.

"I would date myself."

You can't help but laugh out loud "Sure," You nod, adding a little slyly. "There's no one more perfect than Jung Hoseok."

Hoseok chuckles. You look back at the fire and see they've got it started. As they continue to gather more kindling and haul around logs, you wrap Hoseok's arm over your shoulder and haul him up with much effort. Thankfully he was much leaner than the other guys and could walk somewhat. He shivers a little in his wet clothes as he comes close to the fire gratefully.

"Maybe I should remove my shirt also..." Hoseok wonders out loud as he glances at the bare bodies of Jungkook and Yoongi who seem to have adjusted quite fine like that. You can't help but look right down at his stomach, wondering if you were about to witness a third ab reveal.

"Please don't join the hardy boys," you plead him as squeezes the water out his shirt.

"Do it, hyung," Jungkook overhears, walking over with a pile of wood stuffed in his arms right up to his chin. He throws it down with a satisfied groan and claps his hands together. You help set Hoseok down onto a tree stump around the fire as Yoongi comes over as well.
